" I've got friends in the Liverpool camp and a good relationship with Klopp,,, but we want to win and we will be professional Rafa Benitez Liverpool Manager (2004-2010 ) New caste United Manager (2016-present)
Everybody assumes it will be a dilemma for Rafa. It will be nothing of the kind. In fact he will want to WIN. Desperately. Not only for the fans and players of the club who pays his wages. But to preserve his status at his old club of being the manager who brought their biggest trophy of the last 3 or 4 decades. Does he want to be eclipsed in the hearts of the LFC fans by Klopp? Don't bet on it. Now Rodgers' position will be different. He'll want to win too but because he may get the club what he just missed out last time and also elevating his own status as a top manager.
rafa will do his best for Newcastle. he's about to run into an angry buzz saw I hope... We should be absolutely chomping at bit to kill someone. Rodgers has tv camera on him l. he can do nothing but hope vardy is pushed. frankly vardy might not be at all bothered. who knows. he might fancy making headlines but he's well past it now... not even England place this summer to motivate him
"It has happened again," said Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde in reference to that quarter-final defeat to Roma just over a year ago but this was even more incredible, coming as it did after not even offering Liverpool the hope of an away goal from the first leg.
Essentially what he's saying is that he doesn't know how to defend a lead. Its an arrogance to go away and start with Messi, Suarez and Coutinho.
I'd have to agree. Messi is a passenger is a fight. Coutinho is another run a long line of players who pissed off the kop and vanished from sight at Anfield. It was folly to start him. If they started dembele even it think they'd have done better. Anyway.... for me the issue is there's 3 passengers up top on this car crash team and 3 cms who are past it and couldn't cope. They then stuck on a right full and played 442 so the front 2 did nothing and the rest got over run. If they'd dropped coutinho to cm or even just had the intelligence to put a cm in and shore up.... but no.

My favourite quote of all time isn't a football quote, it's a movie quote from Rocky 4. Put that heavy bag with eyeballs in the ring with me, and you'll see the meaning of pain. Apollo Creed to Ivan Drago.
