Seems to be a very quiet transfer window for us this year - first in about 4 years. Normally we have loads of exciting and/or awful targets associated with us. Maybe we still are and people have just given up posting them on here as they realise 85% of it is shight paper talk. Although I see the old favourite Jordan Rhodes has surfaced again: http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/14/qprs-8m-blackburn-rovers-target-has-odds-cut-on-qpr-move/
I suppose it allows time to sort out the finer details - maybe there could be a press embargo on all transfer reporting until the final week - that way we'd all be less fed up with all the bullshit
I prefer it quiet, last time around, as soon as anyone decent was seriously on the radar, they went and signed elsewhere.
TF tweeted today that the board have learned ( after having their pants pulled down so many times under Hughes - as harry put it ! ) so we have to expect our board to be hard nosed and secretive !. Harry is the king of red herrings so its hard to know which info to believe. For me young and hungry is the key and the only way to build going forward.
Whats all this young and hungry about? IMHO signing young men that are malnourished is never a good idea!
Don't you just wish they had done all ground work and business early, hate this waiting until end of month. More games pass by where we could have (potentially) another striker
Waiting until the end of the month is just wasting four weeks opportunity to get into our training and up to speed with the squad. Just don't understand it. Identify targets and get on with it - make your statement and get on with the season.
Like Huddersfield are doing with Nahki Wells (from Bradford - scored their winner last Sat) & Joe Lolley (from Kidderminister), Burnley with Ashley Barnes (from Brighton) - all strikers, get them in, get them trained, get them scoring goals!
Have to agree, don't see why negotiations can't take place early & be sorted at the beginning of the month, at the end if the day you're trying to strengthen the team so the earlier someone comes in the better. Also the later it goes on clubs are more likely to play brinksmanship to try & inflate fees etc if see a club is looking desperate which we will be soon.
