Quick NH Question

I've been racking my brains on this and can't find the answer via google. Think back to the last NH season, a Willie Mullins trained novice chaser who was jostling for favouritism for the JLT around January / February. The silks were blue and white I think, and I remember him running somewhere in Ireland and making a right horlicks of the last fence and very nearly getting rid of Ruby. Walsh got stuck into him after the last and he managed to get up on the line. Might have been a grade 2 or even grade 1 event, but I can't remember the name of the horse.

Beefy, Ste, STH - can you help? This is driving me nuts.

Could be a stonking Gold Cup (unlike the Champion Hurdle )

Should get early season hint. Also not in the 'Ricci' or 'Gigginstown' camps so will not have to 'compete' with others in the same ownership for Festival race target!

Late Edit: just remembered KV beat Thistlecrack in the three mile novice hurdle at the 2015 Punchestown Festival.

Got your answer Oddy, I just logged in here. Reading quotes from Willie on him here from last season and he is saying is a 3 mile hurdler who has the speed to win over 2. "He's a staying chaser In the making but with speed like he has you never mind dropping them back in trip either" typical Willie there, all options open by the sound of it. Source: Irish Racing .com

Seriously think IF he comes back from injury as good he's a serious contender. He did beat Thistlecrack over hurdles, and he has already proven himself over fences unlike Mr Tizzards charge, yet he's 4 times the price! That's simply too big, but it's a leap of faith that he returns as good, not to mention the fact he could end up Ryanair He was, from memory, a short priced fav for the JLT when he got injured so the Ryanair ain't out of the question.

He's one of the less heralded stars from the Mullins yard, the blue and white stripes certainly haven't attracted the bookies attention as much as if he wore the fetching light pink with green spots!
