They have stopped you taking a flask in now for security reasons because of the Paris attacks - they can confiscate them if you have one. I always used to have my own cuppa/soup at Half time which is great in the cold weather now its a one of those calypso orange juice pouch things which is not as effective when you are freezing your nads off!
So you can't take a flask in but you could quite easily walk in with a suicide vest attached to you. Makes sense
I remember when the stadium used to get 47000 every game - and the queueing was never as bad as it is now - work that one out?
Oh Oh, come to think of it. They was a guy brought his flask in to the ground against Man City, sat in row 18, which is the first row in the upper tier so he was in full view. Nobody said a word so I'm assuming he 'got away' with it.
I've just checked and it says that Bags, bottles, cans and flasks have all been banned from the Stadium. It doesn't get adhered to as I see a few people take bags in and seen a guy drinking from his flask against Man City. I'm sure they said people would be getting searched as well, that never happened.
http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/...of-light-after-paris-terror-attacks-1-7580126 I have seen people having their small bags searched on the way in - but there again I am in the "Jungle" known as the East Stand
Yes, that is something else that has just jogged my memory... On the way into one of the matches, the steward outside the turnstile made some lad take a drink out of his bottle before she would let him in. So nothings barred, they just want to make sure it's safe before they allow you up to the seating areas.
Never happened, mate. I was expecting every supporter to at least get a double quick pat down, I've never seen anything. A terrorist could walk in at any time with a vest on and nobody would be any the wiser.
i noticed that my son and others in the queue i was in had to take their hoodies off their heads before they went through the turnstile..
