they will have to be a 'translation' obviously unless you can understand arabic

but as an example and off th etop of my head how about

45:36 Then Praise be to Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth,- Lord and Cherisher of all the Worlds!
Falillahi alhamdu rabbi alssamawatiwarabbi al-ardi rabbi alAAalameena

of course there are tafsir to go with the verses which provide a greater insight as to the meanings etc, hopefully you will look that up yourself

World refers to planets. Ancient greeks knew about them so you can bet your bottom dollar that they were known about at the time the Quran was written.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 1978 was divided, one half awarded to Pyotr Leonidovich Kapitsa "for his basic inventions and discoveries in the area of low-temperature physics", the other half jointly to Arno Allan Penzias and Robert Woodrow Wilson "for their discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation"

Perhaps it was god's fart?

ahh the let the semantics begin

origins of the universe better?

Yes.

It's impossible for us to currently study anything that gives us any information from before the Big Bang.
The origins of the universe are unknown and currently unknowable.

There is no creation.
That implies a creator, for which there is no proof.

Universe itself? Laws of physics. What was there before the universe? Obviously still to be answered but rest assured the answer does not lie in religious texts.

Give it 100 years and I reckon man will have conclusive proof of how the universe came to be.

I mean think of all the stuff we used to believe until science showed it to be wrong.

My own view is that the universe is the result of the former universe reaching its limits and proceeding to collapse in on itself creating the big bang and the new universe.

I've got a cracking picture in my head of thefanwithnoname flying around the world on the Giant Lunar Moth, healing animals such as the Great Pink Sea Snail. <laugh>

Come on, everyone knows that creationism is just a nice story at the beginning of the Bible. There is a lot of scientific evidence about the origins of man and the world that debunks creationism 10 times over. Why are we still having this debate?

PS This comes from someone who does believe in God.

Jack - I 100% agree with pretty much everything you've said on the subject over the alst few days. I'm beginning to think we should stay away from these threads!

Probably but it is quite funny watching people present their argument and having it torn apart

Newsflash, the ancient greeks knew about the existence of other planets in the solar system. That text implies nothing more than knowledge of other planetary bodies

thats why I specifically mentioned the tafsir
as i mentioned earlier in other bits heavens and worlds are mentioned as 2 things

other quotes include

(Quran 65.12) Allah is the one who created seven heavens and from Earth like them (of corresponding type); [Allah’s] command descends among them (heavens and earths) so that you may know that Allah is capable of anything and that Allah knows everything.

(Quran 42.29) And from His signs He created the heavens and the Earth; and the land animals that He scattered in BOTH of them (heavens and Earth); And He is capable of gathering them (in one place) if He wishes.

Nothing in either of those quotes even hints at other universes or even other galaxies, TFWNN.

Thats not my question jackie. I personally believe that it does but thats just me

I see a lot of threads asking for proof of my 'belief' etc I just thought I would reverse the question if you will

seems no one has anything
