Well, my curiosity finally got the better of me, and the DECADE I bought which was delivered to home I have just spent £76.08 to have it delivered out here. Is this the most expensive delivered book?

P.S. Not quite true as there are some other items with it.

P.P.S Can't wait for it to arrive.

I did panic a bit then as I did my best to make sure it is available internationally at a reasonable price. Hope you enjoy it, John. And the other stuff that you ordered.

If I had ordered it to be delivered directly here.it probably would have been cheaper, but I thought I would send it to my home and then read it when I got back. As my daughter had some other stuff to send me I asked her to also send the book, which did push the price up quite a bit, but I am sure it will be worth it.

Finished the book on the train this morning. To be honest, now I've finished this and there's no more Amber Nectar podcast I'm not sure what I'm going to do on my commute. I might just start from the beginning again.

Richard, I wanted to commend you on a truly incredible and inspiring piece of work. Like many others I've found myself becoming increasingly distanced from and disenchanted with the club over a number of years. Your book has well and truly rekindled something in me and acted as a stark reminder of the large role Hull City has played in my life for roughly 35 years and that I can't just let that fade away. The book brought back so many memories, from the good times and the bad. On many an occasion it brought a tear to my eye, sometimes a wry smile but more often than not just helped with so many personal memories. Games I was at, people I was with, where I was for games I wasn't attending - it all came flooding back. I'm not ashamed to admit I needed this to help me see the light, to help me stand up and say "**** you Allams". You're not going to take this club away from me, you're not going to deny me the rollercoaster stories that are yet to unfold and most importantly you're not going to deny me all the opportunities to share this love of Hull City with my children that I was lucky enough to experience with my Dad and brother. I will be re-reading the book myself many times in the future as well as encouraging them to read it when they're older so they can know the full and true history of our club.

I can only imagine the immense amount of work that must have gone into the book and with two young children and a busy job myself I can recognise what a tremendous effort and commitment it must have taken. The fact that you have done all that, brought so much joy to me and many other fans, all for non-profit and charity shows what an amazing and inspiring guy you are. As part of my general malaise I have let my HCSS membership slip but I will re-join next season, with my children, and hope that this might present me with the opportunity to meet you in person so I can buy you a beer. Thank you, the words above don't do justice just to what this book has done for me and what it means to me.

Wow. Thanks Jimmy. Your kind words have just transformed what had been a pretty crappy morning that I was having. Thank you. And please do introduce yourself at something or other, be it HCSS related or otherwise.

An excellent post Jimmy. You never know, maybe the Allams will be gone by the time your return game comes round. It's so sad that we used to dream of seeing our team at Wembley.

Now we dream of our owners doing one.

For fux sake. I’m currently in Indianapolis visiting my son who’s lived here for three years. I purposely didn’t read anything other than the foreword from Ash so that I could read the full book during the 13 hour journey, and then I managed to leave the book at the Clayton Hotel at Manc Airport.

Currently up to the early part of the 2003/04 season, the part where Ryan France has just signed and there is the memorable home game against Swansea. What a fantastic read so far and given that I first went to watch City 20 years ago, it was interesting to read about the club's earlier days at the beginning of the book. I take my hat off to Richard for his meticulous efforts in putting the book together and gathering such insightful interviews on the club we love.
