Perfect outcome. Three points, and a horrid performance that should do nothing to get Tonda the job full-time. Jeez that was bad.
I thought we defended terribly. Never seen a worse performance from THB and Stephens looked well off it. 11 players defending the goal is not a sign of great play.
Obviously take what we can get but hardly much to get excited about apart from Scienza today. 3 at the back just kills our attacking threat so much, please please please get someone who rebalances the team and gives us a larger midfield presence.
The CBs must have headaches with the number of aerial balls pumped into the box. They did well Agree with other comments that nothing changed from Still’s performances
Hopefully we somehow repeat this against Sheffield Wednesday to at least get us mid table for the new manager. God I hope we get someone good because I can't do a full season of this.
Appreciate they are as relieved as we are, if not more, and I am splitting hairs a bit but I didn’t enjoy the reaction from our staff on the bench at FT. The standards should be higher than rapturously celebrating that at the whistle. Looked like a lower league minnow celebrating an FA Cup upset. I noticed Lallana didn't really engage with it while the others were all hugging and bouncing up and down in delight
Nah once we’d made the decision to just sit deep after their goal they defended well. Obvious nerves but overall they did what they were trying to do well Whether that should’ve been the game plan is a completely different story
THB wasn't great with the ball on the floor, but he was excellent in the air. Stephens-Manning must be right up there as one of the poorest left side defensive pairings we've ever had. I guess Scienza gets my MOTM. He's a gem.
As a Baz over McCarthy person, real mixed bag from Baz tonight. Should have done better for the goal but a good save in added time and two excellent claims, albeit he ruined one by holding onto the ball for too long and giving away a corner. He also fumbled one which he got away with.
Great to get a win, still an extremely ropey performance but we wouldnt see much of a turn around in 4 days. McCarthy back in for the weekend though, Bazunu nearly single handedly threw that all away.
Probaly celebrating the fat contracts they are going to get now when Spors gives them the job permanently
