Best cross thread I've seen on this site to date. Obviously a lot of respect between the fans of wholesome clubs that don't do 'plastics'. Knowing nothing about our team atm, I couldn't begin to call the result BUT I'm both hoping for and expecting a blinding match between two clubs with an all or nothing approach to this kind of occasion. Let's hope for another memorable encounter, enjoy the evening (so looking forward to it) and keep the thread going to pick up the pieces tomorrow. 9-0? barton will be out to wind people up very early on. best thing we could do is have someone take a dramatic tumble in the box and hope joey loses his rag and starts a fisty cuffs before being sent off.
It's a tough one, do we be the biggest hypocrites ever and foul him all game to wind him up, or do the opposite and play his game by diving all the time? Or, heaven forbid, do we just play it like a normal game..?
We're Newcastle, which means whenever we begin to build up a head of steam, we **** it up, plain, simple and predictable. Important first point at Arsenal, Great win against the scum and a really hard fought 2nd half against Fulham (who I thought would be tougher). If Tiote is on form then the midfield battle will be interesting, with him and Cabaye sitting quite deep and breaking up Barton's efforts. I worry about SWP's pace, more than we'll give away set pieces than he'll actually produce anything at the end of a run though. I'm going 2:1 Toon! 1/4 of the way to safety and on the crest of a wave...HOWEVER...If that wave crashes tonight, I won't need anyone to tell me 'I told you so!'
are u geordies mad saying we havent brought quality??? if im correct the only 2 players we have brought that arent internationals are barton and campbell, and as u know they would be 2 of your best players!!!! i feel for newcastle as i think they will go down if they dont get a striker asap, if your relying on best and ameobi then relegation is a definate im afraid, 2 average championship players!!!!
