Couldn't resist - Premier Inn booked that we stayed in last year for myself, 3 sons ans 3 grandchildren
What is this stuff I'm seeing from the lads in red & white stripes? Own up, who sneaked all of them ringers onto the pitch?! I saw my mate on the train today He said to me he'd seen the Mackem Pelê So I asked, who is he? They go by the name of The Sunderland Team! The Sunderland Team, The Sunderland Team, They go by the name of The Sunderland Team! This is by far the best Sunderland team since Reid's two 7th place finishes! I'm afraid I'm going to wake up with a hangover in a hotel on the Thames looking forward to today's League One Play-off final!
He does all the ****ty stuff so well, that must be coming from Wycombe, like when he stayed down injured to get treatment when they got the pen. The delay would have started to put doubt in the players mind and he would have started to over think things, not saying that's why he missed but it may have helped
Yep. I've had a word with the Nags Head ...advised they stock up and get some extra bar staff trained and ready to go.
When the players are this young, they’re going to be well away. Last time I remember enjoying watching us so much was when Quinn & Philips were here! Then I can’t remember a time before that in my years going (since 81) There have been good games which have sporadically broken out, but never such good football and good goals. Long may it continue
Nah, he should be sold to Sunderland. Obviously missing that chance means he’s only worth £2.5m so it must be added as a clause to his contract!
Some of the one touch football we are playing is real class.....and they're all capable of it,from back to front,on the bench, off the bench. I'm loving watching this team. This is the best it's been for 25 years.Look forward to every match. One reason for that is I'm not over-expecting....I know the wheels will come off every now and then....just enjoying the quality.
Couple of observations, I also noted 09 sitting down in front of goal for as long as he could to delay the penalty, top ****housery there Luke. Our last three league games have thrown us a different problem, Millwalls long balls and head football, Readings ridiculous time wasting and last night's nasty challenges even before Rangers lost their heads towards the end and we came out on top picking up 7 points and a + 4 goal difference. TM has got this team full of belief and confidence, and when your confidence is high in football even an average team can go a long way, and we're way above an average team. Our close control in tight situations and a refusal to panic speaks volumes about the players. Where is this going to take us, well strap in boys and enjoy the ride. To finish I think we're safe from relegation, so that's one box ticked already. OaU.
Very good again. Very good. Not sure QPR are as bad as the table looks for them either, but a lack of confidence and coming up against a team that will tear at you from all angles is a bit of a test. We were just too good for them last night. Always thought that TM would be at least okay. But he's been better by a bit. He's been doing this job a long time and he's seen most things. His sides always play good football, but he has more to him the more we see. . I doubt a bomb blast would panic him. And the other thing that has struck me about him, and is always the mark of a good coach IMO, is how much almost every player has improved. Some good staff there too obviously. We've been turned inside out in two years, and that can take six or seven.
That table looks great this morning. 3rd highest scorers in the league and best defence outside the top 2 Got to say, that last stat surprised me, but 1 goal conceded in the 4 games since Batth and Ballard were reunited says it all
That's the key thing. If you're going to knock the ball around, almost every player has to be able to handle it when it's tight. As long as we all accept it will occasionally go wrong it will just get better. Great to watch man, after too long watching default ball hoofing.
I was very sceptical at the time of TM appointment,I thought he was dour and would have us playing very defensively. I have said it before, but I hold my hands up again now. I was completely wrong. No matter how this season turns out, it's clear he has real skills when it comes to managing these young players into making the most of their abilities. I know we'll have a sticky point and he will come in for some flack.....it always happens.....but,I really feel he's growing into the job as much as the players and the rest of us.
What a save. He's somehow had time to look around in midair and lift his foot to block it. Awesome stuff.
Just watching the extended highlights and it confirms what I thought earlier in the season. ... ... teams know exactly what we're doing but, when it comes off, there's nothing they can do to stop us. When we have the entire team running full pelt towards their own goal we're unstoppable. Mowbray, and the staff, will now be assessing how to combat the growing tactics of teams parking the bus at the SOL. Those like Reading are visibly scared of what we can do and just sitting back with the odd hoof upfield. I'm sure Stoke will be one of the worst we've seen when they come.
