To be honest, as fans of QPR we are used to the team snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, so in the grand scheme of things I suppose we shouldn't be quite so disappointed with a draw. Not so long ago it'd be 0-1.
as I said yesterday, we are not scoring enough goals unless we start finding the net we will drop down the league sharpish
Ah well can't win them all.....still unbeaten......no goals conceeded for 5 & half matches.....I guess this is what's going to happen, teams will just pack their defence and try the odd break......maybe will will get more room playing away.
Will be very interested to hear the viewpoints of people at the game tonight on whether the ball might have crossed the line for a potential goal for us - sounded like quite a borderline decision based on the radio commentary.
Agreed. We're 7 games in, unbeaten, and top of the league. There's not many would've predicted that at the start of the season
I was just about to indicate that both Brighton & Reading have picked up 0-0 draws in their last two games, then a dramatic finish for the fake hoops - better result for us too - wish we could have also managed that tonight. Live Text Commentary 90:00 +7:52 The match has reached full-time. 90:00 +6:02 The assist for the goal came from Daniel Williams. 90:00 +6:02 Goal scored Goal! - Sean Morrison - Reading 1 - 0 Leeds Sean Morrison scores with a header. Thanks for your viewpoint of this - when listening to the match on the radio, you sense from the tone of the commentators voices when a situation is really dangerous, or a goal is just about to be scored.
Just got home, I expected some negative post, i for one am happy that we are top of the league we more points than any other team, didn't know what to expect this year, so far so good I'd say
A draw although not perfect is not the end of the world. This game reminds me of our Championship winning season when after our flying start of 7 wins and a draw a Millwall team that had lost their previous 3 games came and parked the bus and it ended 0-0. Teams will be happy to do that to us as we're hard to beat. As has been said so often though we need another striker..a fit one..and one with confidence. Austin needs some help and the pressure seems to be showing on him. The stats show that in every single game this season (7 league and 2 cup games)we have ALWAYS had more shots on goal than whoever we've played....but we are showing only 9 goals in those 9 games. I still think we're a work in progress, with players still getting fit, others (like AJ) hopefully to return soon.
Happy that we're top of the league... but... Piss poor result at home against a team we should put away comfortably. Very disappointed at tonight's outcome. Opportunity to go 3pts clear of everyone lost! Shall be expecting much better on Saturday against Yeovil.
I think it's a combination of away teams coming to HQ parking the bus and several of our best attacking players not being available, Hoilett, Kranjcar and AJ. I think we will have to show great patience, especially at home. We're in a strong position and we haven't even begun to click into gear.
Spot on I have to say, that fear has cropped up in me when thinking about Austin. I hope to God the QPR curse doesn't strike again.
I met West London Willy Solly March only on bench The crowd didn't sing We looked very solid but poor going forward saying that we had a couple of chances ... Barton did a load of running and work Brighton fans very good We are top of the league and playing very normal ... We can't grumble can we? We have let in two goals Henry did OK dunne is just in second gear ... We can only get better SWP tracked back well We need to win those matches Brighton also will grow as they keep the ball well Saw Judo at distance at SB station but couldn't get to say hello ... Chelsea fans looked glum and sorry no room on the overground
Ok, just got back.... Met up with Staines, Roller and DT, which was great. The game.... well, given how both teams played, all will probably settle happily for the draw. From our side, the best chances probably fell to Joey, who hit a blinding free kick in the second half that their keeper clawed away as it was heading for the top corner. Aside from that, chances for both teams were few and far between, with almost no shots on target. Players that stood out for me: Austin is scary going forward, he can run rings round defenders, which he did on several occasions when we were all willing him to pull the trigger. Clint did well at the back, and the Barton/Henry partnership is solid enough. MoM for me though (rather surprisingly): SWP. Despite cutting in from the left almost every time, he tracked back superbly, and the number of times he rescued the back four with pace running back, probably helped secure the draw. On a night when nobody did that much to shine, I reckon he was the best of a pretty average bunch.
