Sunderland travel to West London to face QPR in the Championship. Last time out Sunderland beat Oxford and QPR drew with Burnley. Sunderland made two change with Moore replacing Patterson and Roberts returning in place of Browne as the Black Cats strolled to a 2-0 victory against Oxford with quality goals from Jobe and Isidor. Anthony Patterson is out for this game but Wilson Isidor is expected to be fit despite hobbling off with a knee injury. Mayenda is back in contention for this game after his appearance at the public training session. However, Huggins, Seelt, Samed, Poveda, Alese & Abdullahi remain injured. Hume, Jobe and Rigg are all on 4 bookings and just one away from a suspension. QPR have had a poor start to the season but they did pick up a very valuable point at Burnley with a 0-0 draw last weekend. Rangers have lost 4 out of their last 6 games and are yet to win at home this season. Defender Morgan Fox and Kader Dembele are both doubts having missed out against Burnley last time out. Former Black Cat, Jack Colback is recovering from a knee injury and will not feature but Jimmy Dunne and Jake Clarke-Salter will both start. Regis le Bris: "A tough week. This third game is not easy to manage because it is a third game in six days. "We had good control. We could have scored one or two more goals to be more comfortable. "We needed to stay consistent until the end. The players did well. "We are learning from previous experiences and today was clear, we are dominant and at the end we deserved to win." Press Conference: Marti Cifuentes "It's a very important point for us because of the situation and the last 48 hours have been really challenging as well, because we lost four important players. "Sometimes when you're in that sort of position in the table, it feels like everything is happening against you. In the circumstances I'm really pleased about the way the guys worked and fought for the badge and for the club. "Burnley have just come from the Premier League, obviously they have a lot of quality and individual talent. We understood it was very important to be patient and find our moments in the game. "I'm pleased about the clean sheet because it was our first one. It was very important not to concede." QPR are bottom of the current form table, we certainly can’t take any team for granted but they have lost to Derby, Hull and Portsmouth recently. I’m going to this one so hopefully it’s a 2-0 away win. Live Stream: https://www.safc.com/live Available to overseas fans Ha’way the Lads
"and today was clear, we are dominant and at the end we deserved to win." Class, love that! Better than Benitez facts and classier
Safe travels everyone going down. If we play to anywhere close to our max we will have too much. Would love four out of four. I'll go 1-3 Mepham, Riggler and Connolly from the bench.
Two draws in their last five suggests they're in pretty horrible form and there's no better time to play them but I'm always happy for a point away. Plymouth earlier on in the season taught me not to listen to form too much.
I think QPR had 25% possession at Burnley with no attempts on goal … … I doubt they’ll play like that at home. I’ve no idea what tactics we’ll use, none whatsoever.
Off for a short golfing break in the morning. Been offered an exec box seat at the game, QPR supporting ex work mate. Would need to go from golf straight there. Just working out whether plus fours are ok in an exec box or not . Think I will go, even if it is a QPR box. The chance to watch this team is too good to turn down. As for the game itself. I trust Regis and the players. They seem to have a really good mentality and have a number of ways to get a result. Looking forward to the performance and a few glasses of red on my hosts.
Great thread @RTB again Got to go for a SAFC win here Don't want to be be over confident or complacent Hawaaaaaaaaay
Rangers lose at Aberdeen, they're booed off the pitch and are already 9 points off the top. Philippe Clement is a French manager on his way out ... ... what they need is a cool tactician who can get the players working hard and bring on the young players. No idea where they'll find someone like that
Take nothing for granted in this league, but if we turn up, which we've been very consistent at doing so far this season then an away win is on the cards, any score will do and I don't mind sharing any goals around the team, but PR to score would be very nice indeed.HTL.
Nice one @RTB Really looking forward to this one. An early start Saturday morning and loads of the lads will be on board the train Ha’way the lads
I am optimistic and think we should win this comfortably 0-2. Will QPR be a bit more adventurous at home or will they try and defend and hit on the break. Reggie can sort that question, whatever their tactics I am sure we will adjust and hopefully come out on top.
I am still not confident we will win all our games especially away from home and always happy to take a point away from home. However if we are to stay up where we are, we need to be winning these games. No game in this league is a given but after our last performance , I can see us winning this one.
These always make me nervous, no wins at home, struggling striker, team of midgets the old Sunderland would turn up and lose 1-0 thankfully we seem a million miles away from that now, still another test for the lads to pass and one we should be looking to take all 3 points from, same level of performance as the last 3 and we’ll all be in for another good Saturday night, haway the lads
I know this is the 'wrong' place to post this video but I thought it might get the views it deserves on here. I have to say there's been times, in recent years, when I've laughed at our tactics for the wrong reason ... ... I actually laughed out loud, watching our tactics in this game, because it's such a joy to watch them work so well. Fair enough Oxford were quite passive but it was like a training exercise for when we play similar but more aggressive teams. I've tried to picture what tactics he'll use against QPR and it's not easy. I'm expecting it to be similar to the Oxford game but we may have to cope with bursts of aggressive attacking play their manager seems to like. This is a free hit for them, no disrespect, and they have nothing to lose by flooding forward, in patches, to keep the crowd onside. We've become unpredictable and I'm loving it
