Another thing re Ascot on Saturday that I wasn’t aware of until I just read it was that Godolphin refused to send anyone, not a single soul, to the Berkshire venue to collect their ‘Champion Owners’ award. Amazing, that in my opinion. That comes, of course, after ‘rumours’ that they had to pay old boy Silvester De Sousa to turn up to collect his ‘Jockeys Championship’ trophy! If indeed they did I hope he took then for every penny as he was hardly likely to turn up in a sunny disposition for free after being banned from riding at the meet by the BHA.
