    Evening all.

I havent been on here for a while so its been really interesting to have a look at all of your comments about the manager, players, results and performances. As we are roughly a quarter of the way through the season, I was wondering what everyone thinks of the following.....

    1) Player of the season:

    2) Liability of the season:

    3) Best Performance of the season:

    4) Worst " " " " :

    5) Any Loan player/position suggestions:

    6) General feelings/Prediction for rest of season:

I think most would agree its been a disappointing start - I never thought we'd be top half but I thought (and still do) that we have a squad capable of keeping us up. What does worry me is that we have used a number of different players this season and that IMO means consistency of performance can suffer. Sandell, Rendell and Mcclure have all gone on loan having made contributions last year and it seems some of our new signings havent made as big an impact as we'd hoped.

    What do we think?

    1) Player of the season: so far its a toss up between kaddem harris and stuart beavon...for me, beaver just edges it

    2) Liability of the season: if thats english for worst player then either halls, benyon or tunnicliffe, all 3 have been woeful

    3) Best Performance of the season: sheffield united at home no doubt: away, must be leyton orient

    4) Worst " " " " : i have been lucky enough to miss most of the big stinkers away this season, but cheltenham at home in the JPT has been one of the worst performances ive ever seen!

    5) Any Loan player/position suggestions: get basey and rowlands on a season long loan/perminant deals, both look class acts. need to sign another striker in january, as beavon looks the only player likely to hit hte net regulary except possibly ibe or mcclure. and please waddock, play leon, get betsy back in the squad and get rid of some of the useless junk to free up the wage bill

    6) General feelings/Prediction for rest of season: survival, but only just!

    1. Beavon- he's been amazing
    2. Halls- The infamous ball treading moment still haunts me
    3. Sheffield United- Kadeem and Beaver were incredible that day
    4. Brentford- They were so bad that any half decent team would have won 5-0
    5. Johnson, Mccoy and Betsy in for Tunni, Foster and Ainsworth. Get a new striker as ibe will inevitably leave in jan
    6. Scrape survival

My assessments are from commentaries and reports only as I don't get to see matches.

    1) Player of the season: Definitely Stuart Beavon.

    2) Liability of the season: I'm going to be controversial here and say Waddock. He's the one responsible for fielding the wrong players and making bad substitution decisions

    3) Best Performance of the season: Must be Sheffield United but had we beaten Preston that would have gone close.

    4) Worst " " " " : No idea. So many to choose from.

    5) Any Loan player/position suggestions: Basey and Rowlands on a season long loan. Leon Johnson seems popular but he does seem a bit slow to me. Must have Donnelly back. A striker who can score goals galore is essential. We need pace and strength up front. Are Harris and Ibe up to that just yet in this League against solid experienced defenders? They sound exciting in spells but is that enough?

    6) General feelings/Prediction for rest of season: Depressing I'm afraid. With the current inconsistencies in performance it can only demotivate the team and relegation will be hard to avoid. We need to do a Leyton Orient and make a telling loan deal. Goal scorers win matches. No goal scorers = few wins = relegation. Current prediction is relegation. If Waddock can stabilise the team and get a goalscorer we should survive.

    1) Player of the season: Stuart Beavon or Bully

    2) Liability of the season: Danny Foster and/or Garry Waddock's summer signings

    3) Best Performance of the season: Preston at home for entertainment

    4) Worst " " " " : Too many to say!

    5) Any Loan player/position suggestions: Sign a striker who can score goals i.e one that has a proven track record not take one on loan who has 4 goals from roughly 50 games

    6) General feelings/Prediction for rest of season: Unfortunately I think it may be relegation due to lack of goals and performances against teams in and around us.

JSwwfc, your comment about good management for players out the side currently or those shipped out. I think a good chunk of that is bad management in terms of signing the players in the first place. The Charlton game a point in case, from all of the summer signings only one player made the squad, in Grant and he was cr*p and substituted after an hour. A total waste of the summer budget. For every good signing that Waddock makes there are 5 or 6 average or rubbish ones.

    1) Player of the season: It has to be Stuart Beavon, always consistent , gives 110% and has found his shooting boots, has learnt to be more greedy and have a shot at goal.

    2) Liability of the season: For me its Matt Bloomfield, John Halls & Elliot Benyon. Matt Bloomfield while I admire his loyalty (something rare in football these days) he is not a league one footballer and offering him a 1 year deal and getting rid of Lewis Montrose who was a real asset last season is beyond me. John Halls has been sussed out, worst signing by Gary Waddock, nothing but a mid-table league two player. Elliot Benyon, a signing I was really looking forward to has been a major let down. Shows no passion something I thought he would have playing for his hometown club and can't shoot for toffee and offers literally nothing to the field and I have often forgot he is there when he has played.

    3) Best Performance of the season: Sheffield United at home and Leyton Orient away spring to mind, goes to show though in these performances we played our best with the ball on the floor and everyone was closing the ball down and wanting the ball when we had it.

    4) Worst " " " " : Tranmere away for me, looked like we had given up just as the match had started and looked like a completely different team (can't remember us having a shot)

    5) Any Loan player/position suggestions: A Striker, its as simple as that. It's been Wycombe major downfall for the past 3 seasons, Scott McGliesh being the last proven goalscorer we had and if it wasn't for Peter Taylor he would still be doing a grand job for us just like he did at Leyton Orient. Until this problem is addressed things won't change.

    6) General feelings/Prediction for rest of season:

Very dissapointed with our start to the season and our defending at times, I want to believe we will stay up and will do it with a few games to go and that Gary Waddock will stay, but even that is hard to say at the moment. But I hope the team prove me wrong.

Mike Duberry turns up at Adams Park with a backpack. The security guard worriedly asks him what he's got in the bag. He replies 'Porno dvd's, some counterfeit match day tickets, hooky replica shirts, some drugs and a gun!'

The security guard says 'Thank **** for that...I thought you'd brought your boots!'

I agree with the fact that he doesn't merely play players because he has signed them. Something which far too many managers are guilty of but I stand by the fact that Waddock's signings are on the whole are pretty poor. The majority of his signings have been ex Aldershot players, many of whom he inherited at Aldershot and didn't even sign himself. His summer signings were especially bad, considering how using budgets wisely at a club like Wycombe is so important. Is our squad any better than last year? Probably not.

I don't want to start a whole anti-Waddock campaign but I think he is very limited in terms of signings and adapting tactics/using subs during a match. In his favour, however, I agree he has nurtured Ibe and Harris well.

i agree with finchyblue on the whole waddock wasted the budget signing players like tunny ,halls and benyon, why would you let jp go and sign benyon who doesnt even know where the goal is.montrose was another we should have kept .i am still behind waddock 100 per cent but i think he has to learn by his mistakes and stop playing his favourite players all the time.

    1) Player of the season: Beva been class, bully just behind.

    2) Liability of the season: Benyon all the way.

    3) Best Performance of the season: against sheff united,

    4) Worst " " " " : cheltnham

    5) Any Loan player/position suggestions: new striker to partner beva as ibe will possibly go. such as http://www.chelseafc.com/page/TheReservesProfiles/0,,10268~2144022,00.html if allowed to sign him very good underrated talent

    6) General feelings/Prediction for rest of season. to stay up, and improve consistency not to play well for 10 mins or 2 games. like at the end of last season

js all i am saying is who would you rather bring on needing a goal benyon or jp ,i know who i would want .montrose was one of our better players for the first half of the season until he got injured then he didnt get back into the team because lewis played really well. lewis and donelly have been good for us this season but halls and tunnycliffe havent looked the part, clearly bloomfield is not in waddocks plans so we dont have many options in centre midfield, montrose is only young and could get better as he gains more experience maybe keeping blooms instead of him was a mistake on waddocks part.rowlands if he stays fit will do a good job but he hasnt been properly fit for 2 seasons so the jury is still out on him.
