By the time that the window opens, it's a 50/50 bet that we may all be looking at a very different financial reality - and one that even football will not be able to ignore. Many of the big European clubs will be looking to cut their wage bills (just as we have already done). So don't be too surprised if transfers and loans do not follow their usual pattern. Those who do have cash will truly have the whip hand.
