Not heard too much about Toivenen recently, besides hes too simalar in style too Carroll The one who I like rom PSV is Dries Mertens, who has scored about 12 goals in 7 games from the wing,and hes one of those "ball stuck to his foot players" We were also linked with Van Wolfswinkel last year ,who has now moved to Portugal for peanuts,and now they are asking £25m for him and hes being compared to Van Basten
Wolfswinkel reminds me of Huntelaar though and we see how he was such a hot prodigy and the next thing to only be passed around clubs. Dries Mertens just moved to PSV so that is probably out of th epicture.
Whata bout Dyer from Swansea we were linked with him in the summer, he has been impressive so far this season and he would cost peanut's.
Hes performed so far, but not done it for long enough yet, if his form can be retained over the next 18 months, may be worth looking at My choices would be Erikksen and Lucas Moura or at least 1 of them ( if we could afford it , would both cost ,close to £20m each),both excellent technically, young,both being looked at by the top european clubs,but may struggle to get minutes at say Barce/Real, where as they would play for us.Erikkson knows Agger n Suarez well too

Soldado or his teamate Arduiz(sp), can't remember who is older or younger but I think they both do the business. A lot are forgetting Andres Guardado who plays for Deportivo who got relegated, he is a Mexican International and can play LM,LWB,LB, etc. What ever happened wtih Vargas? I was excited about that one too.
Vargas is out of contract in the summer I think. I'm sure I read that he was signing for Valencia at the end of this season, but I can't find anything to back it up.

I would take Saldado and Banega from valencia in a heartbeat. Where does Vargas Peruvian teammate Guerrero play? He banged in loads of goals this summer and at one time was at bayern.
the thing is this list is not realistic at all until we are in europe. hazard? martinez? Marin, erikkson? All are linked equally or more strongly elsewhere. In the end to attract them we've got to have something. Rafa had CL and his rep when he brought in alonso. he had a CL in his pocket getting reina and another CL final getting torres and masch. sorry but the club simply can't compete yet. Suarez was a major coup but go look at his issues with the whole biting thing. we got him cheap in the end and i'm delighted but we must be realistic Meireles joined apparently having been promised the earth and elft promplty when his thoughts on said promised form G&H were not given. I think we've done well but need to get into europe to attract the top players or top potential like hazard as a long queue is forming. Now arda turan was seen by all recently just how bloody good he is and how we didn't get him for a song i'll never know. all i can say at this point is; 1. i trust we will get who we get on the basis of looking hard and long at it. 2. we need a CB, CM, RW, CF.... CB as carragher is gone IMO, CM as adam is not up to it in there. RW for obvious reasons and CF again for very obvious reasons. add those to reina, agger, enrique, gerrard, lucas, suarez.... and even downing, johnson, henderson, carroll and boy we will be getting close. After all......................... We improved our defense lately by adding johnson in and carragher out (to be proven) We've created the chances.... not taken them......
Couldn't agree more. Have said I would like us to move for him or Victor Moses. Both have the ability to run at players and take them on. Kind of like N'Zogbia but with more potential. Hoilett's contract is out in the summer too.
We could easily get some of the players mentioned,some teams wont spend at all in Jan,and some players will want to move.There will DEFINITELY be quality players available in Jan who wont have better offers than coming to Liverpool.
Is that the winger of Sociedad? He look's good alright. I think we can forget about signing the like's of Hazard or Eriksen in the near future unless we make champs league. I would be happy with Benega he look's really good.
Agree. Those players are highly rated throughout Europe so competition for their signatures will be very difficult. Banega is a top player in my opinion but who is low on the radar for the some reason. Similar to Torres and Suarez in that everyone knows about them but don't want to take the risk for some reason. Another player I would like is Javi Martinez but unfortunately (apparantly) Man City have enquired about him.
Personally I think a lot of the suggestions here are a bit much as many of the players would want European action. But if you're looking for a quality striker who bangs in the goals, look no further than one of our (Newcastle United's) finest - Foluwashola Ameobi. Knowing Liverpool's love of our players, I'd really suggest Comolli and Kenny take a look at him - he has scored against Barcelona after all. Not even Messi can lay claim to that...
