I doubt Dilli took his 14 year old to London just to get in a fight, he could do that on Wind Street far more cheaply!

Have to disagree with you there, maybe you don't see what goes on after each game at your ground. I'm a law abiding female Swans fan who travels to every away game and there are rarely any problems for us as our fans are generally very well behaved particularly these days in the prem but every time I've been to Loftus Road and we walk past that Spring Bok pub there have been problems with aggressive behaviour towards us from the home fans standing outside. I have to ask why the police insist on making us walk that way back when they could park the buses on the other side of the ground by the away exit like they used to when we first used to go there. Seems the most sensible solution instead of having to provide a line of combat police to keep some home fans from trying to goad travelling supporters.

"We have a hooligan element, probably no bigger or smaller than Swansea's, but we've never been on the sort of level of Cardiff, Millwall, Leeds etc. It would be like labelling this lot as representative of your fan base, when they obviously aren't"

your fking right there.....<laugh>....... swansea did squeeze a small book out of its hooligans mind>>>>its called from skinheads 2 stone island......part 2 will be named el gamberro;el rufian for the spanish section and the famous den hagg bob bank attackers.

you can find these books in the fiction section at any good spar in swansea

what a silly thing 2say phil..........the soul crew were feared for a reason>>>>>and im sure it wasnt for big talk behind police lines like most other so called firms.

anyway times have changed the plastics have taken root and may they continue 2 fill the grounds whatever league we`re in...............i very much doubt 90percent em will be there in the lower divisions if it happens one day mind.

both our teams should know what fickle support we have these days ......i say the clubs should milk them for all they got when the goings good.

As interesting as this is to those who actually lived in these times, it :biggrin:just detracts from the true victory when Welsh football was taken back/ given up by the thugs when the second summer of love brought Jacks and Blueburds together in a club, with a smiling face to a thumping base and with some illegal substances:wink:. Club culture and the fans themselves in the late 80s did more to kirb hooliganism than any government and UEFA measure.
Despite your individual attitudes to drugs and hooliganism, this had a MASSIVE effect on the South Walian young male culture. Yes I remember the old times with an "element" of fondness... but I remember the transition to serenity with far greater regard, and will maintain a far stronger desire to maintain the peace and friendly banter than go back to the days when I had to fight because of the mob rule<peacedove><peacedove><peacedove>
