Good post. Objectively, the probability is we won't get anything out of the Chelsea game, but our best chance is that our players have the belief (absent in the Spurs and ManU games) that they can. Take the Chelsea pedigrees on, take the game to them.
Fair I suspect. I guess my caveat was that they break it up and allow others to get forward. Maybe with Kranjcar on the left instead of Fer the system will be more fluid?
I was quite disappointed with Fer especially in the first half. Considering he is supposed to be our creative outlet, he didn't seem up to pace with the game. Not confident with the ball at his feet and some wayward passes, did however track back to help Henry, Sandro and Yun on several occasions. As soon as Kranjcar is fully fit, Fer needs to drop to the bench.
He is undoubtedly a confidence player. As such I expect him to struggle whenever we are up against it. He will always do better at Loftus Road and I can see a case for him to play at home but for Kranky to be preferred away from home. Unless of course Taarabt does ever come back. On his day he is better than either of them but I doubt whether he wants to and even more that Harry wants to give him that chance.
Yep. Harry keeps banging on about not being able to play Mutch, but he wouldn't get anywhere near my starting 11 when all are fit.
Nice to have healthy competition in midfield. Hoilett looked great as an impact sub. Barton seems to be generally well thought off. Certainly a place for Kranjcar at times. And I can see the likes of Henry, Mutch and Phillips having a role to play, even if small.
I hope this finally puts an end the the Robert Green knocking, he was superb yet again last night. McCarthy's time will come, probably next season. The thing that concerned me most last night as the number of occasions Fer and Sandro gave the ball away, especially in the first half.
