Match Preview;
Since beating us 1-0 on April 5th Sheffield United have won one, lost one and drawn two. They still have a lot to play for as they sit 6th, and only three points ahead of 7th place Blackburn who have 66 points. At the same time, a win and a loss for Luton could see them climb to 5th. Their top scorer is Billy Sharp, with 15 goals, then Morgan Gibbs-White, with 10 goals.

As for us, playoffs are still a mathematical possibility, but about as much chance of that happening as there is of Boris Johnson admitting he majorly screwed up and resigning. For more info, see the politics thread. The main excitement remaining is who will end up as top scorer...Chair, Dykes and Gray all have 9 goals each. This is really a sign, to me, of what has gone wrong this season. Most of the time I do these threads, the opposition have top scorers in the late teens, and at least one, if not two other players who have 9, 10 or 11 goals. Our current goal difference of +2 is the joint worst in the top half of the table, and needs to be improved if we are going to progress next year.

Only news so far is that Moses Odubajo is out for the rest of the season with a torn calf muscle, but more team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy those who'll make it, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

In two minds whether I want to go to this game as it will likely be a bore-fest from the Ranger's perspective. Sheffield will probably have a good go as they have play-off ambitions. I don't think many will turn up unless we are there to bid farewell to Chair, Willock, Field and maybe watch Austin hang up his boots (although Dykes still needs to find his goal-scoring boots).

So after club officials attended an Mk Dons match, now Les was seen at the Oxford MK Dons game after that. I'm pretty sure we're trying to get their manager to replace Warburton. If we are then I'd be pretty happy with that !

Unfortunately it's necessary especially if you keep bringing in old crocks and sell your best assets. Hopefully we won't sell too many of our best players and bring in a few decent additions and use the loan market well. Obviously a new manager would have his own ideas on who he'd like to recruit within the monetary limitations.

One would think that at least one of the main assets will be sold this summer purely to balance the books. Lets hope its not Willock.

If we had to lose 1 I'd much prefer it to be Dickie, he seemed to have his head turned at the talk of big clubs being after him. In this league you need as many matchwinners as you can muster and Willock is our main one. Although he had a disappointing 2nd half of the season, Chair can still win you games and brings something different so I'd like to hang onto him aswell. The Striker situation has to be addressed immediately as does the wing back one if we continue to play with them. An attacking midfielder or 2 plus a Centre back or 2 will be needed aswell , so a big overhaul is needed I'm afraid if we have any intentions of challenging to go up. The next managerial appointment is the most crucial decision of all though !

Dickie, Dunne, De Wijs, Masterson
Hamalainen, Kakay
Amos, Johansen, Field, Dozzell, Battache, Chair, Thomas, Willock, Shodipo
Dykes, Austin, Bonne, Kelman

There may be one or two in the development squads that could be promoted.

When you look at that you quickly realize that the major priorities are wing backs.

We will probably sign three centre midfielders

There will be an overhaul regardless of the manager situation, i believe we might aswell do it now instead of next year.

That squad looks like a relegation one to be fair, the striker situation is dire cos I don't see many goals coming from them. I'd add Armstrong to that squad, as he said In Shawshank " Salvation lies within "
