I wasn't there today, but it sounds as though it was a typical "festive season" game.
To be honest, I thought 3-0 flattered us against Ipswich, where we were sitting off them and slow to the 2nd ball all game and apart from the great third goal, didn't keep the ball very well.
Hopefully, we can stay reasonably consistent during the 2nd half of the season and enjoy it without having to look over our shoulders.
We may have used up a few games where things have gone our way.

God I’ve seen some poor first half’s but that takes the biscuit, could’ve taken anyone off at h/t, marginal better in last 20 mins & should’ve started like that, possession all reading but didn’t create too much, only good thing about that match is we didn’t lose, not much else to say except happy new year to you all.

Awful game. We’ve lost to worse teams than Reading.

Onwards and upwards, I hope. At least other results went our way.

What I really don't get, is why we waited until 5 minutes from time, then 1 minute until time to make our subs. I was looking for activity on the bench from around 60 minutes on, as it was clear we needed something fresh, even just a fresh set of legs on the wing. Weird it was left so late.

At about 60 minutes BOS warmed up and stripped off...and it was just then we and Eze came to life...and 5 minutes later he put his tracksuit back on..

Chair too had to wait to come on..and eventually got in about 5 minutes from time...about two stoppages after he had stripped off.

McLaren reluctance to change the team was odd.I understand we have to get use to playing with Scowen and Cousins when mass and Cameron are off.....but chair for Eze was a like for like swap...

Just thankful in the end we didn't throw it away, poor game and even poorer tactics from Schteeve. File under 'Forget'...

    GET A ****ING SUB ON

Funny old game really. We were awful in the first half and they looked really tidy with lots of pace but no one to put the ball in the net. Meite up front was awful and think Bodvarsson would have caused more problems.

For the last half an hour we suddenly started playing and had great chances to nick it but Lumley still pulled off a few great saves as it opened up. Leistner hit the bar twice. Their free kick hit the bar. It could have been 3-3.

Cousins was an absolute disaster. No more necessary on him.

These utter mongs getting on Eze’s back need to **** off. The kid was really good second half.

They're at it on Facebook too.
He's 20, has loads of talent and potential and has just broken into the England U20s.
What more do these ****ers want?
Agree on Cousins. We may struggle for a bit if he starts every game.

Australia better ruddy play Luongo in each game in the Asia cup. It will be extremely irksome if he's stuck on the bench for the whole tournament as at the world cup.

Hopefully they’ll get stuffed in their group with North Korea, Timbuktu and Narnia and he’ll be back early.

An utterly bizarre first-half performance where we played as if we were away to a top Premier side. Everybody behind the ball and happy to let Reading keep possession. We could easily have gone in behind, and most around me were crying out for subs at half-time, but it really wasn't the personnel that were the problem, it was our total lack of attacking ambition. We pressed higher up the field in the second half and could have won it with the attacking momentum that resulted, but really didn't deserve to. A couple of changes at around 70 minutes would have made some sense, leaving it until injury time was daft.

Yep had a bash at one on Facebook, every post all he did was slag EZE off, did my nut when he actually said didn’t even deserve a shirt never mind the number 10, so I told him he didn’t deserve to be a fan of our great little club, he never got back so assume that sunk in.

I enjoyed the second half. Perhaps the contrast with the first. Reading were Barcelona around the pitch and Mr Bean in front of goal (fortunately). Cousins was once Player of the Season at Charlton. He must have bribed someone

should have lost that one so a draw was a bonus. Like to see a couple of changes for the Villa game. Give Chair a game and probably Oteh or BOS

Very disappointed we let them have so much space in the first half. Reading should have scored but couldn’t finish. Second half, we started to press them further up the field and I thought we were going to nick it. Why wasn’ Freeman’s shot in the sky highlights? Cameraman asleep?

    Finally home...
Well that was a bit of a disappointment!

First half we were flat, looked tired. After watching that 20 pass video last night I really thought we would replicate it. instead, we couldn't string two passes together. We really looked second best at home to a Reading team happy to pass the ball around. We made them look like Barcelona. Standing off and not chasing down enough. I think we really missed Mass today. We should also remember this Reading team are in the relegation places and have been very poor. TBH I expected more from Rangers.

Second half we were better but still lacked something. For me Cousins wasn’t very good gave the ball away and stupidly gave away that free kick where they nearly scored. Great save at the end by our keeper. I would have been gutted if we lost that game, so a draw was a fair result.

Just goes to show how far we have come. Most QPR fans are disappointed at todays draw whereas Reading fans think they have won the World Cup.

I won’t knock their weird fans tonight. Although when they sang that chant of “106, it’s still the record” I thought they were referring to OShea’s age! :1980_boogie_down:
