I saw the replay and he took it very well.. Preston striker shooted straight at him but it was good stop from Begovic
From the replay it looked like he got his left foot to it and when it span off his boot over his right shoulder he somehow got a hand to it. Great save and pretty vital too.

I liked the look of Andersen after his first few games for us, but the last few he's been truly awful. Bit worried about him next season now, as we can't afford any passengers in this already blank firing midfield/ forward line !

He's so slow too.
I think Willock is twice the player he is and Willock also worked his nuts off today, a thing Andersen never looks capable of.

Paal was far from his best today, tried hard as always but looked vulnerable. Everyone else put in huge shifts, several running themselves into the ground. With a goal scorer we would have had at least another couple, but as it was it was never comfortable.

Really should have tested their keeper more, he was a bag of nerves and had the sun in his eyes in the second half.

I am absolutely exhausted.
Marti should have substituted me at about 70 minutes. ...but I had to play the whole match.

Begovic is absolved after his early save. Been a different game if they had scored then.

I felt we played fairly well until about the 80th minute and then it got a bit frantic, and anything could have happened.
Cook, Clark-Salter, Dunne, Field, Willock and Colback were really outstanding.

Paal was run ragged on the left, and was worrying...glad when Fox came on.

Andersen was frustrating, started OK but his passing got slower and less accurate.

Dykes was Dykes...he scored a proper CF goal, and then he made an excellent header out from a dangerous Preston corner. His defensive duties and hold up play were excellent....just such a shame he is not a natural goalscorer.

The team was exhausted at end

We are so close...we must be there.

Now on a train home, full of rather unpleasant Citeh fans...shame they couldn't go to extra time

Nice to see Dykes finally get on the scoresheet, even if their goalie gave him an assist. Thought he played well until the goal was in sight, fluffed his lines twice at that point and should therefore have had a hat trick. Preston were awful. Don’t know if Lancastrians go on the beach (other than on a donkey at Blackpool) but they were pulling out of tackles all over the pitch. Shame Andersen kept giving them the ball. Anyway, thank f*ck for that.

Well, what a game!

Firstly, in fairness ro our resident PNE fan, the better team lost! Their No 23 was a very good play maker and dangerous whenever he was on the ball. Let's sign him for next season! Thank goodness for their keeper!

Dykes redeems himself from a whole season of missed chances with a well taken poachers goal but then reverts to form by screwing up a 1:1 with a very poor goalie.

As they got a corner at about 44 mins, my heart sank as that is the classic time we concede. Thanks be, we held on to the lead at HT.

Preston came out brightly and, as mentioned already, their No 23 was causing all sorts of mischief. Credit to our defence who had a good game putting their whole bodies on the line. Bit like Gandalf - 'You shall not pass (score)!

On the way to the game, I found myself wishing that the ref would at least treat us fairly. This was nearly fulfilled as he was pretty poor for both teams in equal measure but not awarding the penalty for a barndoor handball was inexcusable sending the Loftus Road faithful into howls of protest.

An incredibly nervey end with PNE pressing hard and frequently. I was trying to work out the implications of a draw but instead we held on for the win to immense jubilation and Hi Ho Silver Lining!

I'm sure well all be monitoring the Wednesday game tomorrow but it seems it would be a very odd set of results that would send us down now.

Marti The Magician deserves full credit and praise for the entirely unbelievable job he has done since being appointed.

Next season, I believe we emerge from some of the stranglehold of FFP and with Marti and Nouri at the helm, I know we are all excited to see how next season unfolds.

Finally, I have this crazy notion we are going to beat Leeds on Friday. With today's win, I think that is more likely. Either way, COYRsss!

A comfortable win really, made more tense by the fact that we sat back rather than trying to get the second goal that would have killed the game off. Dykes was decent, Willock and Dunne were very good, but Clarke-Salter was just magnificent. What a player we have there.

I hope C-S buys into the Cifuentes project, but fear he is the player we sell this summer.

No money for Willock
A little for Dykes from a Scottish club, I hope
And Chair won't be going anywhere with a prison sentence hanging over him.

If Eze doesn't sell to give us 20% of his fee...we will have to sell someone

Big relief after that game, we had enough chances to bury them but, as usual, made it so tough for ourselves. A Blackburn win will seal it but nothing is a gimme. Huddersfield v Brum the key game if Wednesday avoid defeat tomorrow. We never make it easy...
