We couldn’t string two passes together. Eze was a waste of a shirt. He ain’t our messiah (not yet anyway) and needs a rest. An abysmal show and as bad today as any game under JFH. I thought we were up for it too. Lots of high fives, hugs and a group gathering before the match. 1st goal a mammoth fuc£ up between Lumley and Scowen, 3rd goal as a result of the team watching the pitch invasion at the other end. Game ought to have been stopped for it.
Well that was fcuking awful, couldn’t string any passes together, midfield well there wasn’t one, as for that 1st goal bloody dreadful, Steve said we’ve been working on the final 3rd, really I didn’t see anything today, back to the drawing board! Unforgettable match.
A bit of a reality check, we're just bloody inconsistent and you never quite know which team is going to turn up on the day. Hopefully Schteeve might give the Cup game the respect it deserves but Pompey will be fancying their chances on today's show...
QPR. The gift that keeps giving. However, might slightly explain why they were more up for it. No excuse really.
Jeez just seen their first goal wtf were they thinking? Hope that puts a stop to this playing it out from the back nonsense once and for all....
No. We don’t mix it up enough to the point some of these guys would surely benefit from a rest. Sheff U was probably the game for that. Ah well. Just back from Forest Green watching the mighty Bury so at least I chose the right game. P.s. Cousins is ****e. Come on Uzbekistan because we need Luongo.
Diabolical, and yes I have and continue to. Just so ****ing awful in so many ways against the last team you want to go behind to, a horrible side that even at 4-1 up take the ball to the corner flag to take the piss. Horrible, horrible ****s. No excuses for our lot though, it was back to Holloway and early McClaren levels of ****. At least, though, we can comfort ourselves that when Lumley played the ball out to Scowen on the edge of our area to set up their first goal, we were playing 'properly'.
They can teach monkeys you know. This was a very unwelcome throwback to the first few disastrous home games of the season and lessons that should have been learnt then were totally forgotten: our total inability to deal with a high press, the lack of options for the player on the ball and of course, the old chestnut of dogmatically trying to play out from the back when we simply don't have the players to do it. The latter in particular is a major black mark against Steve McClaren of course (maybe he slipped into an alternate reality where last August and early September never happened, who knows?) and which directly resulted in us coughing up a comedy goal that dictated the rest of proceedings. Any fantasy that our core squad was learning to play without the crutch offered by the loan players was well and truly shattered. Our form has been slowly slipping back since the injuries to Cameron and Rangel IMO and reached it's Nadir today when our back four were exposed again and again by a very average Preston side able to play around our midfield with ease. And to cap it all this was another abject showing from our great hope for the future Eze who contributed far less to the entertainment (sic) than Jude the cat. 'A bad day at the office' doesn't come close to describing the awfulness I'm afraid. :-(
Just seen the Chelsea result which has made me feel marginally less grumpy about anything football related.
I’m fairly convinced that Eze is still a supremely talented player who has little chance of performing to his potential when we play the Chuckle brothers in midfield behind him. Cousins is just a terrible footballer. We have to try something else at Pompey. Manning hopefully.
Shows the difference the loanees have made & that the core squad whilst may have improved isn't strong enough & definitely need a number of additions in the summer.
A variety of comments about us from horrible, s**thousers, average, etc although wandering away from the ground one Hoops fan who said and I quote , one of the best sides we have played down here. Three points suits me though Rangers were awful and Plan B was so predictable bring on Matt Smith. Been to your gaff four times 1 draw then 3 wins thanks for the points all the best for the rest of the season
