Nice to see all the joy on here for a change but we do need a reality check. We gave possession away far too regularly in the second half and allowed the opposition way too many chances. On another day they would have capitalised. We no longer have that hold up midfield player with amazing vision and precise passing and we will be more direct.
Lyndon Dykes was impressive, I love his attitude and work rate. He is a real find. I was baffled by his booking, for absolutely nothing!!!
Yes, we were lucky Grabban didn't manage to score from 4 or 5 very good chances and our passing was off at times. We still played some great fluid football, were effective enough on the day with our finishing, but the biggest improvement for me was in defense where we looked a lot more solid than I remember us for a while. Dickie looked good, Kakay very good, Barbet good and Wallace a big upgrade defensively on Manning. Lumley was ok yesterday, no mistakes and some good long balls out, and Cameron defended very well in front of the back 4. Progress I thought, but of course it's just 1 game and we need another striker, and more back up otherwise, especially if we lose Manning and/or BOS.

I wonder if forest will buy another 10 players after yesterday’s result Lol Not our fault they couldn’t get a shot on target & that’s normally us! Let them carry on planting trees if they can manage that!

Agree, Forest had good enough chances to win the game

Agree, reality check required.

After first poor performance, there will be doom and gloom on every front. Let's take stock after 10 games.

Totally agree.

I am most pleased that we kept a clean sheet. Our overall shape and defending was much more comfortable.

We also created chances and scored goals.

Plus we did not “miss” the absence of Eze.

Sure it is the first match if the season, but progress and a great start.

Roll-on Coventry this Friday.
