Fair comment. I guess you could also argue that the play-offs offer clubs in the lower divisions a more meaningful Wembley experience too.

Yes true and the bigger Championship clubs are mostly relying on going up in the next two years to avoid financial turmoil. I don’t really blame managers for sacking it off when they’re a few poor results in the league from the sack.

Bring back the Anglo-Italia cup.

How about all clubs, including premier league, enter the competition at the same time and all income from the matches is split 50/50, including TV and streaming.

And the early stages are regional, to a degree, so that small clubs don't have to travel so far.

You could even stipulate that the premier league ground should be used by default if against a team 2 leagues below, bringing more income for the lower league team.

I guess the format allows it to be a simple knockout with 92 teams. Some sort of group stage would be even worse.

I think the issue in the early rounds is home clubs losing money. We’ll have lost at £13 a ticket on average (I’m guessing) and about 10000 in attendance.

Spent the evening in A&E with a suspected DVT, so haven't had a chance to think about the yellow and green, pukey, family friendly ****s!!

I've never heard a manager so pleased with a loss. I understand what he's saying, it's just the way he says it. Ainsworth aside, the depths this club have sunk to that we are celebrating a 1-0 loss is quite extraordinary. The buzz we all felt at beating Cardiff was also strangely bizarre. It's like every game we are the underdog from a lower league playing a top team from the premier League!

We fielded a weakened team with many reserve team players. I guess they performed quite well, certainly much better than I expected.

It is unfortunate that they lost to a last second goal. But lose they did.

Norwich made 8 changes from the previous league match as well.
