    Field was good.
Dixon Bonner could be the real thing. Duke McKenna an annoying wasp.
Kolli ( sideshow Bob) was so much enthusiasm.

Uncle Albert has not got it in his legs to do a match...

So the defence marshalled by Field seemed okay..was not to worried.
No creativity in midfield...Dozzell failed to impress in his role as the established midfielder.

Richards just looks slow and uninterested, but I am told that is his style.

The kids really put in a shift, I am gutted for them...but to be honest pleased we don't need to play a match next week, where someone else can get injured ( fingers crossed for Dykes, have we sold Kelman?).

The pitch looked perfect, and the tannoy was so loud in the loft that you couldn't hear your self talk.

So we were not disgraced. The kids are OK.
    Goodnight

Didn't follow this match but cannot believe that we somehow managed to lose it at 90 + 9 mins ET, so no replay next week at Norwich. So St. Jude was perhaps looking out for us?

I've never heard a manager so pleased with a loss. I understand what he's saying, it's just the way he says it. Ainsworth aside, the depths this club have sunk to that we are celebrating a 1-0 loss is quite extraordinary. The buzz we all felt at beating Cardiff was also strangely bizarre. It's like every game we are the underdog from a lower league playing a top team from the premier League!

Dykes crocked is all we need. Cruel result but better than many had expected. A striker has to be top of the shopping list before the deadline...

But that's the reality of the situation, Bob. Gaz is a manager for the period that we're in, I'm afraid, so won't get any criticism from me. The executive management of this club has been a shambles for a decade and has got us to where we are.

I don't get the gloating of Reading's predicament at the moment - there but for the grace of Gaz go we.

I'm not upset about last night, really. I thought we did alright.

We usually lose with a crap performance against a league 1 or 2 side with a bunch of senior players. This time, we got to see our younger players have a good go at it. And we took a good championship side all the way until the last seconds.

Look at it this way: as fans, we care much more about the league. And our performance last night fills me with more hope for the league than I would have had if we had gotten a lucky 1-0 win with a **** performance against a L1 or L2 team.

The first question included the words ‘a match in which there were so few chances’….I looked at the highlights and Norwich had loads of chances., just their finishing was woeful. Then I heard Ainsworth saying ‘I’m not stupid’ which is usually something that someone who strongly suspects that they are stupid says. Anyway, he seemed very happy.

Great that some kids played and it wasn’t a humiliating disaster.

    Looking forward to Saturday.

I think there should be limited squad numbers for both cup competitions, Bob, maybe 18-20 players with dispensations in case of excessive injuries etc. I’d like to prevent the big clubs from fielding B, C or kindergarten teams in early rounds, then suddenly realise they have a chance of winning the damn thing and then start fielding their A teams.

I think they’ll scrap the League Cup in the next decade. Lower league clubs lose money in the early rounds and the big clubs don’t give a ****. Even a Palace, Everton etc. who haven’t won anything since Captain Tom was at school prefer to secure 15th over 16th. It’s become a bit pointless which is a shame.

Fair comment. I guess you could also argue that the play-offs offer clubs in the lower divisions a more meaningful Wembley experience too.
