    What an afternoon!

I was concerned for the first half an hour as we were struggling to get any possession.
We got better as the half progressed and it was noticeable that we were mixing it up with playing out from the back and the occasional long ball too. Variety is good I think.

There was a point at about maybe 20 mins when Begovic misplaced the pass or kicked it out and the crowd let out a huge collective groan. I was concerned we were going to get on their backs as has happened recently.

Thankfully we went on to score instead which boosted QPR confidence and silenced the Neanderthals.

I wondered whether we'd do our usual and concede at 45 mins but instead was delighted to get to HT 1 nil up.

I thought Millwall would come out with more than they did in the second half but we remained the better team pressing, challenging and not giving them the space to create many chances.

Chair, probably MOTM, was a thorn in their side all afternoon and credit to both him and Colback for setting up Armstrong for the tap in.

It really was a good team effort apart from the occasional, and expected, lapse and Dykes was drawn in and released with a (relatively) quick ball.

I realised on the way to the ground that I was nervous! I'm nervous about next week already as it is a classic six pointer in which a win will see us out of the drop zone for the first time in ages. Sadly I can't be there but I'm replacing myself with a QPR fan to cheer the team on.

Well done Marti and the lads. Hope springs once more. Please don't take it away from us next week!

Colback's best game for us and MOTM.
Dykes has found his mojo in the new role.
Really pleased for Armstrong, rewarded for all the hard work, but his touch continues to be appalling.
We defend immeasurably better when Cook plays.
Even so, Cannon was a liability for the first 45.
Willock poor again and we would have been much more comfortable had Smyth played as intended. What does the fitness coach actually do?
    I really missed Dozy (not).

    Sinclair who????

    I thought he was crap.

I knew we'd win when I was away. The bad news is I'm back next week lol.

Delighted that a few of our non-performing players appear to have upped their game. Here's to the good performances continuing until next week.

I presume Smyth took a knock in training?

I think he strained something in the warm up. He was in the starting eleven and Willock was on the bench.

From watching the game, it's possible we'd have won more comfortably with Smyth since Millwall were not particularly speedy.

It also speaks well of Marti's team selection which was spot on today.

Injured in the warm up is such a ridiculous concept. Willock, apart from his cross for the first goal, was hopeless again today. The published starting line up - with Smyth instead of Willock - is our best eleven. If we could get those players on the pitch consistently we'd be fine.

As Marti implied, it’s good to get the result. Enjoy it but it’s next weeks game that’s important now. We need that back-to-back winning streak now. There’s so much riding in this game, I just hope the pressure doesn’t show and we can take all todays positives and take another step forward.
Nice touch with Andy Sinton talking in the dressing room,

I'd forgotten what this feeling of mellow satisfaction after a win felt like.

Man alive, Millwall were poor. But a win and a clean sheet and a half decent performance was all we could hope for.
Huuuuge game next week. But a similar performance should see us really start to get out of the mither. Actually looking forward to it and I never thought I’d say that
