Just so predictable. First half we simply couldn't defend our left flank even when doubling up. Santos was desperately poor as Paal was before him. By the time Marti worked it out we were already 2-0 down and chasing the game with zero strikers to get us back in it (Celar doesn't count). Boro were stung into action by our unexpected equaliser and easily added a couple more. Only Saito comes away with any credit.
I thought his big remit was a high press, why has this totally disappeared. We are not good enough to control a low press. Really bizarre
Suppose theres nothing us fans can do to change anything. We are just the mugs who pay to watch this **** week in week out. I feel like I'm owed money from the Sheff wed, Blackburn and especially Derby games from trading standards.
There is no option to play through the lines as there is no movement and no idea what each other is doing. Look at Boro, play through the lines with ease as everyone knows what each other is doing and no press
Yeah, it's totally disappeared from our game. We end up so deep that the space between defence and our lone attacker is huge. I really do feel sorry for Celar. I joked that he wouldn't score all season but the support and service is non existent. You bring on Smyth to chase a game, you can never tell if it's a cross or a shot with him, league 1 at best. Chair, been ****e since returning. Madsen, a charlatan of a footballer, Anderson, runs around and gets in decent positions but ****s his pants. None of them are on the same wavelength
Agree that tactics are weird, high press has gone, however who is actually a decent attacking player in our squad? Chair-Unfit, Saito-Not sure, Dembele- Lightweight, thrown his dummy out, Anderson -Pedestrian, Lloyd-maybe should get run, Kolli-Politics have fxxked him up, Smyth- tries but not good enough, Madsen-Really, Celar- so far God no, Frey-Injured. That's 10 players who presently are no where near good enough
Formations, tactics, selection That's his remit Perpetuating with Celar in the vain hope he'll get off the mark is strange
QPR boss Marti Cifuentes, speaking at the post-match press conference: "In a few minutes we conceded two goals that we should defend much better and suddenly we're 2-0 down in minute 35. "I think we reacted after that and we created three good saves for the keeper [Seny Dieng]. We knew that by scoring one goal before half-time could give us some help in how to approach the second half but the keeper was brilliant. "We were trying to push in the last minutes [with the score 2-1] and we were risking more and more. "A counter, a very good player that comes from the bench in a situation that we knew that we could happen when we are risking the match, then for me the game is kind of over."
Come on Bob Leeds away last season was the worst performance since Stewart Houston pretended to be a manager
Not a prayer, no one will get us out of this other than MC. A question, why are we selling out home games and taking 2.5k to Derby, because fans believe MC has it in him to create a decent outfit, regardless of the dross players to pick a starting 11 from.
I don't want to read this thread as I don't want to re-live that 100 mins. Why would anyone want to?! What an appalling display of football! I can only hope there are factors we don't know about - perhaps a bug that swept through the team or bad news for a team member - but assuming that's not the case, the players and management need to stand up and take responsibility for that debacle! I've refrained from criticising individuals but Madsen and Celar are not adding anything to the team and I suspect they are demoralised by their own displays. Obviously the injuries are a significant factor and it seems to me that the only hope we have is for those players to come back as early as possible to begin to get some points on the board. Can anyone explain why we played reasonably well against Sunderland and so abjectly terribly today?! I'm sorry we ended up barracking Dieng though he asked for it with his time wasting antics. Goals do change games and Dieng produced three good saves in our 5 min purple patch. As it stands, we're heading to L1, and fast. However, that's what we said at a much later stage last year and here we are in the Championship for the moment. Let's see if Marti can replicate his magic. Seeing as he has now gone 14 games with only one win, it's surely that magic from last year that is keeping him in his job at present. Dave McIntyre called this at the start of the season, suggesting that some of the fundamental things not being done well had not been put right and it looks like he was right. I wonder how much blame Christian Nourri has to take for this mess since I believe it's his system of assessment that has driven recruitment. Why has just about every team around us recruited better than us? He needs to be held to account for that. Enough ranting. Going to bed as a very disappointed QPR fan.
First time ever that we've never won one of our opening eight home games. Says a lot. Players not good enough for this league. Tonight it looked like men v boys. We can't even get the basics right. Marti seems all at sea and Nourry's computer modelling has proven to be all wrong. The club is in a mess. But I must say, I had higher expectations and thought they were on the right track. What can we as fans do anything about it? Nothing, but suffer yet again. I'm not sure a different manager will be able to change much. Grim.
I've no idea what happened last night...but we looked so disjointed, disorganised, and like a group who've never played together before. All very strange and needs sorting asap. I've written Leeds off on Saturday, but after a two week break, against Stoke, if we don't get something we need to make changes.
Yes. I think I'd stick with Marti to steer us through whether in the Championship or L1. Changing manager is window dressing only (though it will be interesting to see how Man U get on in the next few games).
Marti mentioned good performances in the last few matches prior to this. That analysis is a problem in itself. Burnley game was absolutely shocking, one team turned up to win the game. Sunderland was piss poor against 10 ****ing men. I fully expect us to park the bus against Leeds and hope to keep them out as long as possible. I had written Celar off but I don't actually know if he's good enough or not as I've never seen a player so isolated. Madsen I can completely write off. A weak player who shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11. It's all about tactics and formation to me. Marti is getting it so wrong and seems too stubborn to try anything different.
It was a bad day in my house, a lot of not good things I went to the match to be cheered up. That did not work Now Trump is elected. Remember Remember the 5th of November
