Okay I am really going to be controversial
And yes I was there yesterday, and yes I cameaway really sad and disappointed

But my empty glass is really just there to be full of lovely lager.

Yesterday we didn't give away goals to defensive mistakes, we gave away unbelievable goals to mind staggering awful mindblowingly destroying f***ups.

Manning left a ball he could easily chased back on for Wallace who was not there. Did Wallace call, and Manning not understand? Was Wallace suppose to be there. I don't know, but it was a miscommunication...but remember they have only played together once before.
The second was even more staggering, what was Nahki thinking, there was no need to do that.

The only defensive mistake was in the 2nd minute, after that Middlesborough never looked like scoring except when we gave them the goal on a plate. Once we had scored the second, I was faintly confident we would win. I thought the defence was more solid, bearing in mind two of our 3 CD are actually out, and hopefully back after the break.
The highlights showed 3 at least sensational saves from their keeper, Lumley's only job was to pick the ball out of the net, when he had no chance to stop the ball (Incidentally Kelly was not dropped, he was injured). The highlights do not show Hugills miss in injury time, when he caught a cross at full speed and headed it wide.
As Warburton said, we do need to be more clinical, we need to be more inventive and not depend only on Eze to be clever.

But I can see we might begin to play again, as long as our heads do not drop. He also has not been able to play his best defence since the Luton match ( and how well did we play that day) Manning (Hall/ Barbet/Leistner) Kane....now I think he might prefer Manning, (Wallace Hall, Barbet), Rangel.

Keep the faith lads

From the evidence of those highlights, plus a few games seen earlier in the season, Lumley is pretty ****e, though, isn’t he?

Yesterday Lumley did nothing wrong. he had no chance with those goals.

Kelly did some good shot stopping Vs Brentford ..
Still can't tell which is the best...
Neither are great from playing out from back though

He looked hopeless to me, but you were there and I was under a slimy rock somewhere.

Exactly the same as last season and 4 points better than the previous three seasons...

Thanks. That is vaguely depressing. I thought we were dong better than last season.
Have to say that the football is (mostly) more pleasing to the eye than any recent year.
Let's see what January brings.

But last year we went in a terminal decline after the excellent draw at Villa on New Years Day, relieved only by an unexpected and brilliant win versus Leeds, in which Freeman ran the show.

So, if we are just steady this year, we could out shine all the previous 4 seasons, which would be nice
