True. It was an entertaining match and could very easily have been 5-3, or another other high number.

The good news is that we are creating real chances and have the confidence to attack with intent. In another day, we could have scored more goals.

McGuinness was extremely dangerous, as later was Adebayor, and you are correct that we should double up on such players. We gave them too many free headers and we’re quite lucky that we only conceded one goal from them all.

However, the first half, Frey and Field showed that they can also connect well with their head.

    it was an entertaining match.

Just back home. First game in the flesh in ages. Loved it. Can't believe we didn't score more.

    Ref was pants.

I love Saito. And how is Morgan only 18?

Feels like we have so much strength in depth now suddenly. Dembele (when he's back), Smyth, Chair and Saito are a brilliant set of wingers. Frey looks good up top, Celar was getting there, and Lloyd and Kolli snapping at their heels. No idea who our best CB pairing is when they're all fit. Colback now able to provide competition for Field and Varane. Even have two good GKs. Nice nice nice.

Really felt for Alfie Lloyd. Looked so good when he came on and really deserved one of those chances to go in.

Luton better in the second half but truly atrocious in the first half. A shame we got worse for the first 30 mins of the second half.

    The Marti Party rolls on.

A win is a win, whichever way you look at it.

About time we had a bit of luck - (ahem) - magic with Fox's back heel for the winner <cheers>

A totally dominant first half with a gut punch ending. It was still disappointing that Marti didn't send them out for the second with more confidence and it took a lucky break to get us back on track. Morgan was excellent and a top sub performance by Saito off the bench. Work needed on defensive corners of course.

The proverbial game of two halves.
We had great energy in the first half and but for a couple of worldies from their goalie, it would have been done and dusted at half time.

Instead, we conceded a corner and a free header for their undeserved equaliser.

Second half, we lost some energy which was revitalised with the subs.

We were a tad lucky with the winner but then Lloyd was unlucky not to get a brace.

Very pleased with the win. 13th and nearer 6th than 22nd by just one point.

Keep winning at home and we'll be setting new records as well as biting at the heels of 6th.

Worst moment? Lino bottling the decision to sanction the player that assaulted Smyth!

Best moment, of course, the winning goal.

    COYRssss!

Hang on is this enjoyment I’m getting? And a smile on my face?

This team doesn’t even resemble that mob turning up in November, some dodgy moments but some classy, assured play… it actually feels like a team again. Jimmy really feels like the heart of the team as well, gotta ****ing love Jimmy.

First half good, second half not so good. Shame we let them score on the stroke of half time, it gave them the confidence to dominate the first thirty minutes of the second half. I was like an eight year old me watching Dr Who from behind the sofa but a fantastic goal by Morgan Fox got us back in the lead. They didn't create anything from open play if I remember correctly. It was the set pieces that were a worry. So the relief at full time was palpable. Oh well, another three points, another home win and we've done them three times this season. Five home wins on the bounce and 13th in the table after being bottom in November. Keiron Morgan is only 18?

Not sure what you guys were watching but I saw a perfectly executed training ground free kick for our second goal

If Messi flicks that in from there’s he’s hailed a genius and we’re supposed to believe Fox didn’t mean it?

Two really entertaining games on the bounce. If barcelona had scored that first goal, we wouldn't hear the end of it. It was slick and sublime. Some really good football played and the 2nd half was always going to be different after the late first half equaliser. I was concerned about all the subs at first, more so about the amount of changes of positions, rather than like for like but it seemed to work. Alfie up top was a real handful, never bottles out of anything. Another good outing.

Seriously, what was actually going on with the ref last night? It was actually getting strange. Anything he could realistically get away with not giving us, he didn't. And then it even starting going beyond that, where he gained confidence in being able to not give us decisions even though it was blindingly obviously.

I thought he wasn't giving anything to anyone at start.

But the non award to the elbow to Smyths face ...was absurd...but the lino was not giving anything either

The linesman was a bit gormless and I think instructed by the referee to just give throws and offsides which he still struggled with. Would like to see the Smyth one again as it looked a bit tasty from behind the goal.

It didn’t look so bad on the telly. Caught by a swinging arm, no malice, is all.

Anyone got the fuller highlight for the first goal? Highlights cut out the build up play from the back, which was the best thing about that goal.
