Match Preview;
I'll put more up tomorrow, but just to get things started, yes they are third in the league, yes they are pushing for automatic promotion, yes they have won their last two...but all that becomes irrelevant under the lights at a rocking Loftus Road. With the Loft on their backs the Leeds defense will crumble, and we'll be talking about the night we ruined their promotion bid.
COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
From the official;
Can Rangers stop Leeds marching on?
QPR will have to find a way to put their current form behind them when facing high-flying Leeds at Loftus Road this evening.
Rangers have felt the unforgiving side of the Sky Bet Championship over the past month, and are still waiting for their first league victory of 2019.
But perhaps Steve McClaren’s side can spring an upset this evening as they did when the two sides met in the FA Cup last month with Rangers deservedly going through as 2-1 winners.
There’s also the encouragement to take from the last three home performances against West Brom, Watford and Birmingham.
Our visitors Leeds are unlikely to be in a generous mood and the R’s will have to at their best to get something from this game.
When Leeds were relegated from the Premier League back in 2004, it would have been almost unthinkable to imagine that 15 years later they’d still be waiting to return.
Having endured both on and off the field problems, the Yorkshire outfit finally looks the complete part this season and will know that a victory this evening will take them back to the top of the table.
With 13 points separating Leeds and 7th place Bristol City, the Whites will almost certainly secure a top-six position but their fans will not want to be put through the roller-coaster emotions of the playoffs. Automatic promotion is in their own hands and a win tonight will bring them a step closer to that goal.
The appointment of Marco Bielsa last summer was certainly a statement of intent by Leeds and the much-travelled Argentinian manager has so far delivered. His attractive style of play, high-pressing tactics and attention to detail when analysing the opposition has put Leeds in an excellent position with 13 games of the season to play
