Match Preview;
Our visitors on Tuesday night, Huddersfield Town, are not having a lot of fun so far this season. They came so close to a return to the top flight last season, losing to Nottingham Forest in the playoff final after an own goal. Unfortunately for them, they haven't seemed to be able to shake off that disappointment going into this season. They sit bottom of the division, a full 5 points behind 23rd placed Wigan, although Huddersfield do have a game in hand. Their defence hasn't been the worst in the division, having concerned 25 so far, but they've only scored 17, and only Cardiff and PNE have scored less. Jordan Rhodes is their top scorer, with 4 goals, closely followed by Danny Ward on 3.

In comparison, Willock (6), now has Dykes (5) hot on his heels as our top scorer, but Willock looked like he's going to need some more game time to get his sharpness back after returning from injury against West Brom. The whole display against West Brom seemed a bit lethargic and missing the intensity we've seen in other games. It was a frustrating game to watch, but what do you do about that on the training field? Put it down as 'one of those days' or work on attitude/tactics/formations so that if we have another off day, the players know how to respond and lift themselves. I'm no expert, but there must be plans that can be put in place to help the team lift themselves if needed. We need to ensure the West Brom game is an exceptional blip, or else we could soon find our season slip away.

QPR: Stefan Johansen and Tyler Roberts are out, whilst Jake Clarke-Salter and Taylor Richards are back in the squad.

Huddersfield: David Kasumu is suspended, whilst Etienne Camara has a knock with Jonathon Hogg and Tom Lees missing out.

Thanks Dave. From what Warburton, Beale and others have said when we play 3 times a week there is barely time for training especially when we have to travel. No travel for this one but suspect today was rest, tomorrow recuperation, sum up WBA and prepare for Huddersfield, Tuesday train a bit and play.

Yes. We need to start better. And Ilias in particular needs to cut out his pissing about on the ball in the centre of the park, move the ball out to the backs quick when they are in space, and the opposition are massed in the middle in front of him. I remember him doing that when maybe he thought the backs weren't good enough, which was wrong when Niko and Kakay had so much space out wide that all they needed to do was sling in a decent cross unmarked, which both could manage well enough. Even worse now that we have Laird and Paal who are better backs who were too often left criminally unused in space on the wings on Saturday. Chair still frustrates me sometimes for all his ability and hard work.

Start of a run of 4 games in 6 days for me, off to Germany for a burst of pre WC footy on Thursday. Be ****ing nice to start with a win in the only game where I actually care about the result.

I’m really torn on young Armstrong. I’m sure I’ve been overly harsh on him, but another performance like the one against Brum and his confidence could collapse . I like the idea of him coming in as an impact sub, but if he really has to make an impact ie if we are losing or drawing, that puts the pressure on even more. He needs a bit of luck.

Didn't see the point of him coming on sooooo late Saturday. Better to give him 20 rather than 2 surely, and maybe with Dykes.

He needs more than the injury time he was given at the weekend ! The 2 home games where he and Dykes both started , we won both let's not forget that. And he was subbed at half time in both

We were in the upper loft near R block corner, but it wasn't massively apparent as far as I remember.
Laird did get forward more second half, but nearly always messed it up.
We absolutely noticed that whenever a player was on for a pass, it was all too often delayed, although it improved second half, presumably after Beale had told them to, especially bloody Dickie, who passed much quicker second half.

I've just added the team news and manager comments from the official, and it doesn't suggest they have that many out injured. Surely though, at home against the side bottom of the league, we have to go all out for three points.

IMO, Balogun needs to have a strong game (if selected). He, along with all others were sub par on Sat., but we've won or drawn most games where he's been at his best.
As for the attack, hope the boys have practised shooting whenever they get half a chance. We need more shots on target and I think if we get two up front we'll send these Terriers back up the M1 with their tails between their bum cheeks.
