Great first 60 minutes.

Every substitution weakened us.

But did I see Mbengue on touch line on crutches.

Then Burrell goes down with hamstring and we have to play with 10.
Of course Derby were going to win.

Chair and Madsen really looked as though they were protecting their injuries

Adamson and Smith are not ready yet..
Nardi is not as good as Walsh
I thought the main sub mistake was bringing Chair on. Not because of Chair but because we needed to stick with 2 strikers.

Also, there was no need whatsoever to take Bennie off, who was having a great game and would have easily been able to play all 90. And would have saved a Burrell injury.

Guy on the train reckons he and Morgan will play in the yoof team cup final on Tuesday which is a fairly ridiculous reason if so.

That was a weird game. Boiling hot, couldn’t see much of the action first half due to the sun and due to the fact we were in their penalty area. Not for the first time this season I’m not sure how we lost, but clearly Nardi is not going to be our goalkeeper next season and Adamson, ( like Smith and Esquidinha,) is not ready for the championship yet.

Adamson is 23 btw. Doesn’t mean he won’t improve but in footballing terms he’s not a young player really. I get bringing him in if he’s cheap and you think there’s something there but surely you loan him out to L1/2. How much can he, Smith and Esquerdinha really have learned this season?

Are there any of our players that you like?

Loads. Dunne, Edwards, Morgan, Madders, Vale, Smyth, Kone, Burrell and a few others. It’s a squad with plenty of goals for once and potential excitement but it’s small and weak overall which we can only hope as ever is addressed.

But Adamson doesn’t look at all ready which is fine if he’s a teenager getting a go in a nothing game. At 23 if he’s not good enough then his odds of ever being good enough are long whereas Smith and Esquerdinha are 2-3 years younger.

Fair enough, but there are plenty of examples of late-maturing players. Bennie has taken a lot of stick, but I thought he was excellent today.

Smith is getting lots of criticism, which i don't understand, as it's based on about 20 minutes of playing time.
Please give the guy a chance and hold off criticising until he has had a decent run of games under his belt.
My gut thinks he has got something about him that I like and I hope he turns into a special player.

BTW, I thought we played great today and were unlucky not to take all 3 points. But we have nothing to lose so giving more players game time can only be seen as positive IMO.

Smith didn’t play today. I don’t want to write him off but he was beaten for pace a lot in Tuesday. He can improve his positioning to offset that (Baresi wasn’t fast) but needs proper coaching. Also on how to tackle.

Didn’t see any of the game today, glad we played well despite the result. Bit of a flat end to the season though, a consequence of no jeopardy I suppose!

Julien Stephan rightly praises the fact that "we played... dynamic football, strong ambition to create danger [and] score goals" but only Sheffield Wednesday has a worse record than QPR's 70 goals conceded. Jimmy Dunne and Ronnie Edwards are class operators at this level and, to a lesser extent, I like JCS, RND and Mbengue but, collectively, it ain't working: three more goals shipped yesterday. Do we blame the midfield? And it can't just be down to our goalkeepers, despite their obvious frailties. There were many positives in a great game of football yesterday but, in the end, it was so very, very frustrating. Anyway, I'm surprised the defence coach is still in a job.

Absolutely this

We simply won't progress is we can't drastically reduce the number of goals that we're conceding (obviously) and yesterday was a prime example of allowing teams to keep winning 2nd balls in and around our box / final 3rd

After being all over Derby for much of the 1st half, the subs seemed to really set us back and it was farcical having to play with 10 for 20 mins after losing Burrell to injury

Unfortunately at present I see us being marooned in lower mid table again next year. We clearly won't have decent money for summer signings (I don't think there will be big money offers for Varane or Burrell, or anyone else for that matter), despite the fact that we will have a lack of cover in some key positions

I certainly wouldn't waste money on a managerial change this summer. I think that much of our issue this season has been down to key injuries, poor coaching and at many times a lack of leadership on the pitch

For me, almost better than getting a great strike force is us getting a) a top keeper and b) really good options in both LB and RB positions this Summer.

It's been several seasons since we had 2 good options to compete for a place in both LB and RB slots. And, this season, I remember us conceding a lot of goals by opposition getting into the box from the wings.

Mbengue is a L1 player at best, as much as I love the guy. Adamson... we have barely really seen any of him. Ok, he's 23, but he hasn't had anything near what could be called a 'run' in the team. In any case, maybe we should be looking to bring in 2 good champ RBs.

RND is great but would like another at LB to strongly compete with him. Larkeche? Hmm, I'm not so sure. I'm ok with him staying but we need a better, quality championship LB.

Unless his injury is a bad one I think there’ll be reasonable offers for Burrell. Would set us back of course but given money is tight and it’s obvious the problems are midfield, in goal and at full-back it would make sense to take it and invest in those areas. Get what the **** we can for Varane unless he accepts he’s a Championship player and stops being such a tart every other game. You ain’t going to PSG, mate.

Up front (Burrell or not), out wide and at centre-half there’s enough to work with but way too often we lose the midfield, get done down our left side in particular and concede goals most goalkeepers stop.

Though the biggest issue of all is getting 40 games out of our best players. Sort the fitness out and it’s worth more than a couple of good signings. Sack that cycling dickhead.

The whole fitness situation is ridiculous. Second season where fitness has clearly been shocking and now they are clearing players to play again who then break down. So they don’t seem to be able to get them fit for the start of the season and can’t get them properly fit and ready for the injuries that keep happening to the squad they are responsible for getting fit for the championship.

I don’t need data to see it’s a failure. It needs changing, and quickly. I enjoy seeing my favourite players but even my second favourite, or third favourite, would be good too. I’m sure JS feels the same too.

So at the end of a season where Nourry has splashed the cash we are going to end up in 16th position again having conceded 70 goals at least (heaven knows how many Ipswich will score next Saturday to clinch automatic promotion) and most of the first teamers have been unfit for large parts of the season. We know what the priorities are. Do the owners?

I've had a few days to reflect and I still think that ref literally carried Derby through that game. It was like he was constantly trying to kindle something in them by helping them out. The only decisions we got were the ones he couldn't get away with not giving.

Most teams think the ref is anti them but this fella was on a new level!
