Very slow start from us but got better as half went on, doesn’t look like our formation is working against theirs, might have to change it a bit
Poor first 30 from us, but then we started getting Willock in behind their midfield. We could have scored, Dickie, again, is looking very confident and competent.
Defensively very good again though with Dieng and Dickie more than making up for the incompetence of Hamalainen and Cameron. Austin’s was the only shot on target.
I noticed that Hamalainen was left out to dry by his teammates a number of times. There were a number of times where no one seemed to offer any support to him when he had to do his defending. There was one instance where Niko had the player with the ball in front of him and another player to his left in waiting. Chair just stood there. Niko was forced to pressure the player and, of course, was easily passed around with a triangle pass.
Yeah that’s fair. Chair isn’t offering himself nearly as much as Willock is for a pass. But defensively when it comes to standing up the winger and the like he’s been poor. Again probably not helped by Chair not filling in enough.
Kane and Cameron have both cleared up some half chances for them. But our clearing and passing has been frequently bad from a few, including Dickie, Nico, Ball and Chair.
I noticed that we're getting dispossessed and tackled a lot in this game, too. In the first half of the first half, the team looked like they'd all just woken up from a long nap.
