Match Preview;
Feeling quite positive after a good point away at Forest, so wanted to get the thread for Tuesday up early. Derby are now 2 places and 2 points ahead of us after their 1-1 draw with Fulham on Friday night, so they don't really have much to play for either. Martyn Waghorn is their top scorer, with 11 goals...but also worth noting that a certain Wayne Rooney has scored 4 for them since joining as a player/coach in January.

The official match preview on the website is basically a love-up for Wayne Rooney...England's record goalscorer, bla bla bla. The preview even goes on to say...'The Rams, of course, possess a number of other attacking threats...', but doesn't actually mention any.

Team news
QPR: Charlie Owens (knee).

Derby County: Krystian Bielik (knee), Tom Huddlestone (Achilles), Duane Holmes (lower leg), George Evans (calf).

Pre-match words
QPR manager Mark Warburton: “We have to understand how we can impose ourselves on the game, how we can impact Derby in a positive way. We are at home and we know that we are a good team; we can create chances and score goals. We have to concentrate and hopefully we can get the right result.”

Derby County assistant manager Chris van der Weerden: "If you look at the last 14 games from December and Christmas – we lost two of them and we are still 13th in the table, so we need to get more points. The thing is, we play well, we create chances exactly the way we want then sometimes we concede in a simple way or we create a lot and don’t score. That is why we don’t have the results we want at times."

I never understand the Rooney hate fest on here.
I realise that you're probably referring to the media always calling them Wayne Rooney's.
He is Utd's and England's all time top scorers and at his peak was a fantastic player, with superb technical ability.
Unfortunately, he was always injured for the big tournaments.

I don’t hate Rooney, as you may remember from many previous posts on this subject. His performance for Utd in one of the ritual slaughters at Loftus Road during one of our recent brief sojourns in the PL was nothing short of astonishing.

You are right the piss taking is of the media, the showbizzing up and celebrity fest re-engineering of the beautiful game is sickening. And it’s not Rooney’s (or last year Frank Lampard’s) fault.

Oh mate he was ****e. Given loads of chances and consistently ****e. SWP being worse doesn’t make him better.

He was a winger. Name me a consistent one. Even Dave Thomas (before your time) had many, many off days. He was hardly a world beater, and I don’t miss him at all (and didn’t we get him for almost nothing from Blackburn?) but we have had many worse players, some with big reputations, over the last 10 years. I think Hoilett could have been much better than he was, the basic talent was there. That he wasn’t was his own fault and those who were supposed to manage him.

Changing the subject. I am still harping on about BOS yellow cards. Everyone seems to agrees that he has 9. Clive actually mentions it on his Forest report
" Osayi-Samuel rather needlessly picked up a ninth booking of the season for delaying a mixture of delaying the restart and dissent"

The BBC and I have him down for 10 yellows already.. Huddersfield, Bristol C, Swansea, Derby, Preston Brentford, Sheff Wed, Swansea, Stoke and Forest. Did we appeal against one?
