This seems like it could be a very sad story. I hope I’m wrong.

Jimmy Dunne is back available after injury according to GA.

Probably won't feature, but might get a 15-20 min run out, assuming we are not 3-0 down by then.

I’d forgotten we had him. We have a lot of actual or potential CBs.

Are we able to get TR off our wage bill?
Total waste of space even allowing for funerals, personal reasons etc.
We are trying to run a supposed professional football club here not a winkle stall on Southend pier.

I believe he’s on a 4 year contract. It’s tough on the lad but is there any future in him at all?

Interesting interview with Chair on the Official. He sounds like a smart bloke. Sounded to me like he wants to play with Willock again. Maybe he will tomorrow.

Poxy train strike as can’t get any main line trains into London from Shirley, looks like I’ll have to watch it at my son in law house as he’s got the fire stick

No, unless someone is dozy enough to take him and he’s willing to go for whatever wage they’re paying him.

A silver lining is it demonstrates Ainsworth implementing some sort of standards. Willock was phoning it in in pre-season and early on and we’re seeing a glimmer of hope from him now. We might even get a run of six games out of Clarke-Salter.

I guess he'll likely get paid off if he doesn't start playing in the next months. He has a long contract to settle though, 4 years? So to keep in line with this seasons FFP that may not be an alternative at least until next summer.

£500k a year (probably a bit more) for sake of argument with nearly four years left. Six figures before his agent/him even think about it. Our options are letting him rot or working with him and hoping he comes good. Different circumstances but JCS is on a long deal and unlikely to be low wages so we just have to hope Ainsworth’s sports science guy gets him fit long term which he never has been.

Think they are working with him and will continue to this season. Letting him rot won't help anyone.

Probably right to give Armstrong a rest and bring him on for the last half hour.

People might criticise still playing Fox rather than Salter but the defence seems to be improving as a unit.
