Great game to be at.

Interested to read earlier post that some players were sick as in the first half most seemed slightly not at their best apart from Dieng who kept us in it with some magnificent saves. Dieng my MOTM.

First half was mostly Coventry apart from a pin point top corner free kick taken by Ilias that drew a top drawer save from their keeper.

I was very glad to get to HT at nil all since Dieng had been the busier of the keepers by a long way.

I suspect the Coventry HT team talk was along the lines of keep doing what you're doing and you'll be rewarded.

Cue Lyndon Dykes who received the ball and pretty much with his first touch slotted home Taarabt style with the outside of his foot.

The game then transitioned from football to clubbing baby seals (apologies for the unsavoury analogy) since Coventry pretty much capitulated and QPR took a firm control of the game with waves of dangerous looking attacking play.

Barbet sealed the deal taking advantage of both keeper and defence wondering what to do with the loose ball which he shot high into the net with aplomb.

Dieng MOTM for me. Without his heroics we'd have gone in one or two down at HT from which I don't think we'd have recovered.

The fans played their part with fantastic support which I'm sure made a difference.

Pleased to have been at the game and what a great time to be a QPR fan!

Sounded like a great atmosphere mate.

Happy Birthday Ubers.
Coventry so accurate and fast on the long ball...had us beaten...but then they take if their two front players...doh and thank you.

We grew in the game... And Dykes came on like a tornado... The payer he replaced ( I won't mention names as I will get shouted at for being disloyal) was really not at the races...or perhaps he was at the races.

Overweight, slow and uniterested.

Oh and Johansen is the best captain we have had in years. Pushing and applauding his team.. making Dieng take all the plaudits at the end ( Dieng really kept us in it.)

Really love this team. Live their spirit skill team spirit. It was so great...

But Coventry were very good

I can accept that Austin isn't fit and he's always been slow, but I'll be amazed if he's uninterested.
Looked pretty interested scoring the last minute equaliser against Barnsley.

Anyway, nice to see Dykes score again.

Totally agree…..might be completely wrong but Austin doesn’t seem the type of fella to be up for it until he gets a contract and then when signed, be like a bloke who has had 24 bananas.

He had awful service in the first half to be fair to him. Hopefully he'll regain fitness and sharpen up. I agree with you, his motivation is fine

You are right.

Dozzell replaced Austin.. sorry I was there and caught up in the moment.

But will stick with the fact Austin was poor at leading the line...no hassle or bussle.
Dykes was like a tornado in comparison
This is true but just for this game. Hopefully a one off bad day at the office.

Haven’t seen today’s game but the description of Austin is what I saw against Barnsley, and then he scored a real strikers goal. To be honest I don’t think you can ask much more of him nowadays than to score fairly regularly. As far as I can remember his body language when things didn’t go perfectly for him - when the pass wasn’t exactly where he wanted it - was poor even when he was in his prime, and he was never a great chaser back. Now you can’t ask him to chase a through ball, he hasn’t got the legs. Though he is handy defending set pieces. And he will score goals, and balancing his time on the pitch with Dykes and is proving effective - we haven’t lost for ages. We just need to temper our expectations.
