My MOM by a mile today, he ran that game for us.
Got to be Chair for MOM. Best performance from him all season
So good to have so many contenders.......

Dickie, Wallace, Willock in the 1st half too, were all excellent as well today, and all who started were at the least good. I just thought Johansen was a cut above everyone else on the pitch, the way he controlled the game and opened their defence up many times with inch perfect often disguised passing was exceptional. Slight minus for him for not taking a couple of shots early on, but otherwise a nigh on perfect performance. So good to have so many contenders.......

Chair works hard, got in good positions, made a few clever passes his corners were better, but he frustrates me with his continual insistence on shooting at the near post often from impossible angles or distances. Still he got lucky today when the Keeper spilt that one weak shot for our 3rd goal.
Right at the end, Dom Ball losses the ball in front of our penalty area, and Cameron hacks down the Cove.ntry player...but Ball gets the yellow card.
Was that card just for being an idiot...or did I miss something
I think the way we played the 1st 30 minutes with quick 1 or 2 touch quick passing from the back, and high press is Warburton's favoured way of playing. What we tried to do most of last season and this until about the end of December. He's gone 3 at the back which has helped reduce the goals against, and we have been playing more directly since January as we weren't scoring enough either this season until Austin and Johanesen came in. Yesterday against a weak side we played more from the back again and the 1st 30 minutes was I reckon how Warburton really likes us to play most. Helped on a lot by the early goal, and then them scoring a couple for us!It seems like MW has worked on something new over the international break, with ultra quick one or two touch passing. And this is the perfect game to get some good practice on it, as Coventry can't cope at all.
I always like to be critical, so...
Cov. are all over the place and are often handing us possession. However, we aren't THAT sharp and crisp. I've actually seen us much crisper in our passing and with the team being on the same page. So, I think this is a strange combination of us having a new tactic that has shocked our opposition, along with us being not as tidy and sharp as we have been in the past. If we'd been as switched on as we were in some of our better games this season, we probably would have had a couple more goals already.
It's almost as if the pace we're playing at is even too fast for ourselves! Considering how this style of play was worked on only over the last couple of weeks, I'd say we're doing really well with it for a first run out. But if we can get used to it and get it down, this could be a really effective new direction for us. As I said, today's game is the perfect one for us to play it.
Willock is not his usual self today, regardless of the goal. Not as explosive. I think the setup hasn't suited him today, with Chair being the creative midfielder and Willock waiting to receive key passes. After the initial shock, Coventry are trying to defend in numbers, crowding out the area around the D. Willock prefers a bit more space, which would come from a more back and forth game.
Also, we are mostly playing down the left, making good use of Wallace, which is also why Willock isn't getting on the ball as much.
I would actually slow the pace slightly in this next half, dominate possession and let Coventry come out of shape and get tired. That should be doable as Coventry will try and commit a bit more when they have possession.
Mm. Not sure about that . But we certainly do know who wears the trousers in your exchanges.
I hink Chair has improved alot this season. Taking the number 10 shirt iand all that we associate with it could be a burden. It took Eze a while to look comofrtabkle in it. I think next season we will see the benefits fo giving him that shirt, and if we can hang onto the loannes as well he will have some experienced players around him to help. I do wonder whether if we do sign the loanees permanently, will Caroll get offered a new contract as we would have Amos returning aswell.
Great result yesterday
So can we get it rescinded. Not that I think it matters muchI think it was mistaken identity Beth, the wrong player got booked.

Johansen is the one I'd want most but can we realistically afford his wages? They discussed it on the QPR Pod this week - he's surely on upwards of 30k p/w which is about two or three times our wage cap as I understand it. I think our best hope with him is that he and the club both push hard for another loan - assuming Fulham stay up...(which I think they will)
