Match preview;
This Wednesday night we welcome Cardiff City to Loftus Road, hoping to pick some points after a disappointing loss last Saturday against Luton. That loss saw us drop to 4th, but thanks to Sheffield United drawing, and Norwich losing, remain only a point off 1st place. Working hard to keep my excitement in check here, and clearly failing.
Our visitors on Wednesday evening are Cardiff City. They currently sit 18th after 14 games, having won 5, drawn 3 and lost 6. They've scored 12 and conceded 14, and in their last match lost at home to bottom side, Coventry. Their top scorer scorers are Robinson, O'Dowda, Sawyers, Harris...all four of whom have 2 goals. If I were a Cardiff fan though, I'd be concerned. Since relegation from the Premiership in 2019 they've finished 5th, then 8th and are now 18th...a clear decline that if continues, won't head anywhere fun.
Team News
QPR: Chris Willock and Jimmy Dunne are out, whilst Ethan Laird is back in contention
Cardiff City: Rubin Colwill, Ebou Adama may be out, whilst Isaak Davies, Mahlon Romeo and Joel Bagan may return.
Pre-match Talk
Mick Beale (QPR head coach): “We’re really excited about the two games this week.
“We come up against two managers who are doing fantastic jobs – Mark (Hudson) at Cardiff and Leam (Richardson) at Wigan. There is always danger around the corner in the Championship.”
Mark Hudson (Cardiff City caretaker manager): “The players are all concentrated on getting results and continuing to work as hard as they have done this season as a team. We’re all thinking of what we can do as a unit, and that’s where we are at the moment.
“It’s a busy period of games coming up, and we’re looking at tonight’s match against QPR knowing what comes after that, which we’re planning for as well.”
Enjoy if you can make it, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
