Think that is owners personal wealth, not club wealth....... What part of "we didn't have the funds in January to splash money on a striker" do people not seem to understand.........

Seriously I get p1ssed off with the twitterati who think that the answer is to splash the cash whenever there's a problem....... That's what got us into this situation in the Hughes/Redknapp years, does anyone seriously want to go back to that situation? We're only not in the sh!te with Derby, Reading, Stoke, Birmingham, Forest due to stringent cost cutting for 5 years and working within strict budgets to keep us from breaching FFP....... Our transfer budget was spent in June/July with Austin/Johansen/Field being signed permanently along with Dunne/Dozzell most might have been Free on Nominal Fees but wages still have to be paid....... plus no doubt funding a % of Grey's wages from Watford.

Now if anyone can identify a 5 or 10 million for a Championship goalscorer and explain where the funds are coming from to pay the fee and their vastly inflated wages be my guest......... Otherwise you just have to accept Wables can only work with what he's got..... him and his staff obviously see the players all day every day and they obviously fell that the 2 18 year old kids in the U23 side aren't ready for the step up at the moment...... why anyone believes differently because they've never seen these kids play, only read about them on twitter of other form of social media I don't know..........

Maybe this season will unfortunately end in disappointment, who knows, we could go unbeaten in the last 11 games and be the form team in the Play Offs....... such is life, but quite frankly there's more worrying issues than simply losing a football match.......

Strange last sentence imo.
This is a QPR message board is it not? Yes, there are terrible things happening in the world, but does that mean shutting this down?
Everything you say about money, recources etc is spot on.
Where I disagree is that you seem to lay no blame with Warburton.
We may well lose Willock, Chair, Dunne and Dieng at the end of this season, so this was our opportunity to make the best effort we could at gaining promotion. It could be years before it comes along again.
Whilst I concede that we have been punching above our weight, the fact imo remains that Warburton, being totally obsessed with the sports science and amount of fixtures has made us incredibly negative on the pitch through all his negative chat off it. He's also played players out of position and tried risky formations at the exact time we needed to carry on with what got us where we were.
He's destroyed Willock's confidence and contributed to us getting into a losing habit.
It's not all his fault and he's done a brilliant job, but imo, he must take a fair bit of the blame for this desperate slide we're in.

Well it seems to for be for every other club, just not for us.

What every other club would that be?

Those getting parachute payments ...... Fulham, Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Sheffield Utd, West Brom
Those using Smoke & Mirrors...... Forest, Stoke (Lost £150m in 2 years)
Those relying on monthly owner funds to keep going...... Blackburn, Us, Luton, Millwall, Coventry, Boro, Hull
Those in the ****e...... Derby, Reading, Birmingham, Bristol City, Cardiff,

Fill in any gaps I've missed........

One other thing...... Our owners are putting in over £1m a month of their own money just to keep the club solvent and in the Championship..........

So we're poor with multi billionaire owners ☹️
(Abramovich $12.3 billionaire.
Mittal. $18.9 billionaire.)

Unfortunately FFP doesn't apply to the big boys, who can spend with impunity it seems.
We really missed our chance when we went up as Warnock's champions.

Don't disagree with you Col about Warburton and using risky formations, but only he and his staff truly know about fitness issues, us as fans know none of this, only the media snipets....... The Thomas situation I do find a bit odd, not even on the bench today but played in the U23's during the week...... I also feel that bringing Hendrick was unnecessary on the last day of the transfer window, Amos was beginning to show some promising form.....

It's really odd that we thought that we'd suffer a poor run of form in January when Chair & Seny were away at AFCON yet we were the form team that month and it's been since their return that we've been poor, which I can't explain....... no doubt injuries and sickness haven't helped and I'm just glad that I'm not a manager having to work out what has gone wrong and try to correct it......... We can only hope that they can sort it out as it would be a shame to miss out on the play offs after what until the first week of February been a great season........

Really? Where is the £1m per month going? Debts? Wages ? I did read that we pay 30% lower in wages than other clubs in the EFL.(Hence the bargain basement transfers) what happened to the Eze £17mill?

Obviously being used to cover day to day business running costs, as gate income, sponsorship etc is insufficient and outside income generated by HQ is non existent......

We didn't get the Eze fee in one lump sum, as with all transfers they are paid over the period of the player contract, so from memory Eze signed a 4 year contract with Palace so the fee is paid over 4 years, we're still therefore owed 2 installments........

Dykes has essentially been injured since the last international break...only playing here and there...and only now " running on grass"...Austin layoff for bereavement and Covid... has left us with one striker, who came to us unfit...and went of to play for Jamaica.

I wish we would try out one of the two talented u23s
Wonder what's happened to Charlie Kelman? Came back from loan and now seems to be sharing a room with the mysterious Ramkilde.

For a club that is strapped for cash, the 4 year period Eze payment is bordering on stupidity, should have been up front..thinking about it,that's why we're probably one of richest poor clubs.

Agree with all you say Tramore until you mention Hendrick and Amos. I think Hendrick is good, we'd have been a lot worse today without him or Johansen. Amos shows some form but not in central midfield. He's an alternative to Chair, presses very well, got that goal when he came on and nearly reached a Dunne nod on today, from attacking midfield positions coming on late. Maybe we have got worse since the Afcon because Chair came back and he seems to play all the time while other than the occasional goal he's always running outside the box, head often down not fixated on scoring or setting up someone else. Amos maybe a better option than Chair some games, so also might Johansen be, with Hendrick in central midfield.

The whole transfer market is based on credit and has been for years, that's why clubs report how much they owe and how much they are owed in the accounts......... no stupidity in the Eze transfer...... in fact if say he goes to Newcastle as is being touted we get an extra 20% of that fee plus the balance owed by Palace.........

Deano, that now just doesn't happen.
Very few clubs can pay up front, and financial reasons don't want to.

It is standard...we cleverly put a good sell on clause into the sale. So fingers crossed we may get another dollop of money

"Destroyed Willock's confidence". Rubbish, he was brilliant today played with all the confidence in the world. eg the pass for Gray the one he missed.
