Great result tonight. Plenty of fighting spirit in the team. Excellent performance from both wing backs. MOTM for me Chair just ahead of Manning.
So Pompey at home in the next round! https://www.capitalfootball.co.uk/s...ey-in-next-round-of-EFL-trophy-Full-draw-here
Highlights of the match (viewable non-UK residents) There were some excellent goals scored during the match by both sides!
Thanks for that Beth. Wasn't there, but I'd imagine we started with Warb's favoured 4-2-3-1 with Ball sitting in front of the back four and the full backs pushing on. When we play out from the back the centre backs split and Ball/Cameron sit between them. I think we may have gone to three at the back when we were looking for a goal and he took Kane off. How was Kane?
Winning was brilliant last night but we lost the singing / chanting competition. They were in fine voice. Us? Only after 85 min when Manning converted. Why? Does it need some sort of orchestration? Drums? Generally better on league match days but sometimes not much. Must make a difference to the team.
I hate drums at football games. Once sat in an upper stand above Lillestrøm fans and their "drummer" at a Vålerenga home game in Oslo. 90 minutes of banging, no rythm, no variation, gave a many a headache, and his drum should have been refused entry.
I'm not sure, the game started at 2.45 am here in Thailand and I meant to sleep, but listened to the 1st half anyway on and off, then fell asleep at some point at half time maybe , or because it wasnt working perhaps, because it woke me up again 2nd half, and it seemed fine then. Don't do Twitter though, took it straight off the Official website on my android phone.
Pompeii missus His and her lingerie kits Coconut Oil and a paddling pool? Jumpers for goalposts Game on!
Football - and this message board - are all about opinions It would be a boring world without them (football and opinions!)
I seem to recall they (Owls) had drums at Hillsborough when we were promoted there. Definitely did at Wigan away last season. Good quality can add something but agree terrible if bad.
I'm old enough to remember the fella at Loftus Road who used to sit inside the wall on the half-way line banging a drum at games in the sixties.
Manning can thwack a penalty with confidence, can’t he! The team will have to be firing on all cylinders to get something from Ashton Gate this weekend. Astute post-match comments from Warbles. Liking this guy a lot after being underwhelmed by his appointment. I know **** all, as you’ve all worked out some time ago.
Great write up of the game by Clive... QPR hold their nerve to settle cup thriller - Report - Queens Park Rangers News | Loft For Words https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...ld-their-nerve-to-settle-cup-thriller--report
From Clive W. match rapport, sounds right and plausible. Warburton are making us very flexible regarding different set ups, very refreshing indeed. "If you’re one of those geeks that revels in football’s formations and intricacies, well then this was a feast for the eyes and the mind. QPR made changes from the Saturday draw with Huddersfield, bringing in Todd Kane, Dom Ball, Toni Leistner, the new and improved Matt Smith, Marc Pugh, Ilias Chair and Nahki Wells from the start ahead of debutant goalkeeper Liam Kelly. For all that it ostensibly looked like the same 4-2-3-1 formation we’ve used in the two league games so far with Ball and Smith filling the Cameron and Amos roles, until the game started and it became clear that, in possession at least, this would be three at the back with Ball joining Leistner and Barbet, allowing Kane and Manning to flood forward from wing back. Chair joined Wells as a second striker to complete a 3-5-2 which later in the day after a series of substitutions became 4-1-4-1 with Ball going to right back and Smith fetching and carrying between the lines. Thank you to Carol from Chelmsford for picking out Guinevere, and set of balls number four."
