Seen us twice in a row (Reading and last night) and we seemed very slow to get going. No intensity at all. Did not seem like a derby at all. How many times did the defence have to make a forward pass and there was no one to receive. Maybe good Brentford tactics but we looked lacking in ideas. Very disappointed
Vital Hall and Leistner get an understanding going. May have been a soft penalty, but Scowen was a mug to allow himself to be mugged. We started making some decent attacking moves in the 9oth minute. Doh...
So a thought for you clever people to discuss.
I have seen us play 3-5-1-1, I have see 4-4-2., I have seen 4-2-3-1 ( which I think was last night)... Warburton has a number of different plans....that he swaps between but last night was different
Unfortunately we were lack two key personnel.
Without Barbet he couldn't play 3 at the back. Without Hugill he couldn't play 2 up front.
In retrospect I think we had a perfect storm for last night. He only had one formation he could play, and he could not swap between it.
Mlakar is not the answer as the second striker, Cameron is not the third CB.

Agreed. But I can't agree re the distribution from Kelly. Think it was very good. He must have hit Rangel with the 50 yarder 6 out of 7 times. Very good technique, effortless like. Unfair to put it down to distribution all the time he's put under pressure because of Leistner, Hall and Cameron dallying about playing sideways going nowhere.
He did hit Rangel a few times, but a few also went straight into the crowd. There were also numerous occasions when Chair made himself available in space, but he either gave it to Leistner or kicked long.
Disgraceful. Should be punished retrospectively (will never happen of course).

Yeah it seems every time we need to win an important game, we blow it.
Take Reading... they have been crap all season and play the game like an FA Cup final. Then Brentford have had an indifferent start and play really good football (which they are capable of) last night and both teams got the rub of the green.
Maybe it’s a sign that we are not quite good enough?
Every time you look at the incident it becomes more unbelievable that the ref fell for it......he was in the air before scowan got near him.....mind we were warned about the horrors of this ref....
It was 9’s who once posted that you can tell in the first 5 minutes what we are going to get. He’s absolutely right. From the outset we were lacklustre. It feels like we have been found out. Keep Eze under tight marking and run at our defence. That usually does the trick. For all Kelly’s good saves, I cannot help but feel nervous when he’s playing tapetty tap in front of their forwards. Looks like an accident waiting to happen.

The penalty incident took place right in front of where we sit and I was immediately screaming for the Brentford player to be booked for diving. I couldn't believe it when the ref pointed to the spot. There didn't seem to be as much protesting from the Rangers players as I would have expected though.
I was in upper loft & wasn’t sure at time & seen replay a few times & have to disagree wherever as very little contact & bloke dived over him, still it’s over now so what ever we say will not change the score.
No chance for the ref then, (I was lower loft) ultimately we got all we deserved last night, nothing
There was the absolute slightest of touches by Scowen, but the fella was already diving before he was touched.
In a way we're too nice we don't have a refereeing committee like other sides....not that it would have changed his mind as to the decision but we should at least be making ourselves heard.....if it had been at the other end I'm sure Brentford would have surrounded him in protest.....
Even the Brentford manager couldn’t keep a straight face when they interviewed him after the game, never once did he say it was a penalty, just said some like that you get, sometimes you don’t.
