Great stuff! Q - What do QPR and the Mercedes Benz badge have in common, today? A - Both got 3 points!!!!!
Nothing to do with lynch, lumley, plan a, plan b, my abstinence has once again earned us 3 points. You're welcome.
And the fact that I stepped in to delete your post...too [emoji846] Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
So many good efforts today but I thought Pav was superb. I'm really pleased McClaren has made him part of the first team. Big shout out to Joe Lumley too. I don't think we'd have come back from 2 nil.down which it might have been but for him. Not sure who was the official MOTM but I couldn't choose between any of them. Fantastic weekend feeling.
Absolutely drenched too, reminds me of why I never go in the paddock normally! Last ticket available but totally worth the effort! Great game
We allowed Brentford way too much time to play their football with Freeman and Luongo chasing shadows in midfield. After the break we closed them down quickly as we have become used to seeing under SM and this made all the difference. Brentford were ludicrously dogmatic about playing out from the back and once we disrupted this the chances starting coming. Brentford were totally on the ropes when SM clearly indicated it was time to hold what we had and we gave up the midfield again and nearly paid the price.
Much better second half until they started showboating and allowed Brentford back into a game they had given up on. Lumley motm for me.
Thanks for that. Did exactly the same at Bolton and nearly cost us . I suppose it took 12 games for SM to work out can't play 2 up front and Eze right midfield, may take a bit longer to realise how to finish off games, make timely substitutions and leave a player on half way line for opposition corners Sarcasm aside we are heading in the right direction and if SM had anything to do with loan signings then I take a bow to SM
It was bizarre how Brentford continued to insist on trying to play out from the back when they just couldn't actually do it. Even in injury time they were playing it sideways across their own penalty area. This widespread obsession with what is often patronisingly described as playing 'properly' is ridiculous if you ask me.
Looked like a cracking game, Lumley with saves at vital times. Looks like everyone is really pulling their weight now.
If you line up the same every game you'll eventually come up against a team where it just doesn't work, no matter how successful it's been elsewhere. The difference yesterday was that we adapted. A manager can only have so much control over team in the middle of play. It's the half time break where he can make the biggest impact on overall team play.
I get that. QPAAAAAGH said that SM completely got it wrong first half, which suggested that he'd done something different. I didn't see the game and was only going on the line up, which looked the same as usual.
Brentford are a decent footballing side, if you sit back and admire them they'll punish you. The second-half we got into them more and you could see them physically wilt as we banged in them 3 goals. In the end, typical Rangers, we let them back in it to make a nervy last 20 minutes. But what a transformation from the utter dross we've been subjected to in recent times. Long may it continue
