Match Preview;
This Saturday we welcome 22nd placed Blackburn Rovers to HQ for a Valentine's Day afternoon match-up. Blackburn have won one, drawn one and lost three in their last five games. Their top scorer is Andri Gudjohnsen with just 7 goals, followed by Yuki Ohashi with 6...they've only scored 27 all season, a stat only worse for bottom of the table Sheffield Wednesday, who only have 18. Twenty-one years after they were crowned Premier League Champions, it seems they are destined to drop to the third tier of English football, for the second time in that period, having spent a year in League One in the 2017/18 season. They let their manager, Valérien Ismaël go at the beginning of February, after just under a year in charge, and only 11 wins from 43 games...and Damien Johnson has been bought in as temporary manager until a permanent replacement is found. In his first, and so far only, game in charge, Johnson oversaw a loss as Blackburn conceded twice in the last 17 minutes to lose 2-0 to Norwich. That loss leaves them 22nd, but level on points with 21st placed Leicester, and just one point behind 20th and 19th placed West Brom and Portsmouth.

As for us, we've now won 1, drawn 3 and lost 1 in our last five...with all three draws being 0-0...so a great defensive display or rubbish attacking display, depending on whether you are a cup half full or half empty kinda guy. I must confess, I very nearly turned off the game against Charlton, I really wasn't enthralled at all. I felt Kone was left all alone up front as the three in support, Smyth, Vale and Saito, were all dragged back. Given they are in such a bad position, and have struggled to score goals, I'd love to see us really go at them, start with an attacking line up, with two proper strikers able to play off each other, and support each other. Kone alongside Burrell (edit : not Burrell...he's on crutches as Oslo pointed out below) would be splendid and will hopefully make for some more sustained attacking play.

Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy if you'll make it to HQ, and as always...

...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

Injury update

Hardly worthy of an update. No-one is ready to return! Will JCS in training mean that he will pick up an injury again?

Obikwu was an exciting prospect, but seems like a porcelain doll :headbang:

Cheers Dave.

According to TfL no service between White City and Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip on the Central Line on Saturday.

Blackburn appoint O'Neil manager

New manager bounce no doubt

If it’s raining in Shepherds Bush anything like it is 100 miles north west must be a chance that this is called off. Floods and waterlogged ground everywhere here.

Just bought my train ticket…..

Still doing the Northern Ireland job at the same time. Feels a disaster waiting to happen. Not tomorrow of course when they’ll play like Blackburn 94/95.
