A reminder that Monday's quarter-final draw is live on BBC One from 19:00 GMT. If you're a Watford fan, you'll be wanting to watch that!
Phew, my son in law is a sort of QPR fan, although I have great pleasure in reminding him that he has a Watford ID. My message has reminded him of that fact.
Looking at the draw, we might stand a chance of a semi final: There will only be 6 Prem teams maximum in the last 8, and we are one of them! FIFTH ROUND (Sat) Brighton v Derby AFC Wimbledon v Millwall Newport v Citehhhh FIFTH ROUND (Sun) Bristol v Wolves Doncaster v Palarse Swansea v Brentford FIFTH ROUND (Mon) Chelsea v Man U
Before this last draw I swear I dreamed QPR followed by Darlington followed by Wolves! Don't know why I have said that, it's bound to be complete bol**#s!!
On my way back to Leafy Bucks after the match. I thought, despite the opportunities we afforded them, that there were only one or two moments where I felt uncomfortable which is less than usual. We're always likely to give the oppo a chance, it's how we play. We also seem to do the minimum to win. Barely got out of second gear, showed enough today to suggest that we would have found a way to win whatever the circumstances. Didn't have it all our own way but the result was never in doubt.
I missed the first half as I was on a train back from Newcastle for work. I will miss the draw as I'm on a train to Newcastle - for work! I don't actually care - it's mid February, we are eighth and in the quarter finals - it's bloody brilliant.
Agreed - 2nd half Gomes wasn't really tested at all and that chance at the end wasn't as easy as it seemed - the guy was stretching quite a bit and is a centre half. We just struggled a bit with the high ball to Matt Smith which most would - probably wise to play Britos and Kabasele then ahead of Mariappa for height.
Britos got MOTM on SSN and I think I’d agree. I think he’s played really well in our cup games so far.
Just seen an interview with McClaren implying they had us under siege. Yes, you’d argue they were the better side for chunks of the game but ultimately there was one shot on target each...
One other thing: best atmosphere from the Watford fans since we beat Arsenal at the Emirates... hope it came across on the streams/telly?
Last night on MOTD, the focus was on their missed chance, conveniently forgetting that if VAR had been available, we would have gone 2 up.
On TV.. No.. Time and time again TV fails to communicate the ground atmosphere... A good argument for having options to listen to a match with just crowd noise and no commentary.. Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
Typical. It was pretty incessant where I was... the Depeche Mode "Just Can't Get Enough" went on for 15 minutes alone. The guy with the drum wasn't so far away. We sung the boys home!
I just can’t help thinking the media really don’t like us or just like to ignore us. Commentator on BT Sport just now ‘Wolves favourites to finish 7th, Wolves will surely be third favourites for the cup after Monday night, it’s amazing the calibre of player they’ve attracted’ (two points ahead of us) etc etc. I think they may have taken Muff’s crown as media darlings!
Im sure we will both drop points to teams we should beat BUT if you look at the run in ours is a lot harder than theirs
Well they have attracted such players because there are links with a certain agent ! But no-one seems to complain like the media did with us and the Pozzos. A clash with Wolves wolud very much be 50/50 so really there is no clear 3rd favourite.
if nether of us get points against the top 6 but win our other games and we beat them they would still beat us by 1 point .Now we all know that will not happen And Watford could win all our games BUT Liv Man c. Man U and Che all away i dont see many wins
