To be fair we threw it away. We had numerous chances to go 2 up and didn't take them. I like Charlie but we are over dependant on him and he looked knackered We need a big time finisher asap
Very unlucky but a much improved performance today. At the end it could have gone either side and the Swans do have a good team. Austin just had one of these days of nether finding the net.
1 goal is never enough. we had the chances but blew it. next match away at Burnley - first away points?
To be fair it was a bloody good finish by Bony, the sod......and then not sure how those attempts at the end stayed out.... Good game just surprised there were only 2 goals thought there would have been more with the chances both sides created......and yes Rob Green is a very lucky boy, and Routledge a tad unlucky.....
Really not a great Christmas week for us with only 2 pts gained out of a possible 9. Today we needed to build on our lead to prevent these last minute comebacks. Hopefully on Sunday we will field a strong squad, score a few goals and get some confidence back in the team before heading to Burnley for a crucial relegation scrap, where we could attain a record breaking 10 consecutive losses at the start of a Premier League season.
TBH I think we had the more clear cut chances and Green and Barton should have been off. You bossed the game without any real threat. Stunning goal though. But that said, it was probably Routledge's red card that galvanised the team to score the equaliser.
We should of finished that game off, we all knew that defending the goal lead wasnt going to work, i bet all us we're biting our nails & of course they equalise.................................oh QP aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhh, so frigging disappointed with that result, the table would of looked so better with us on 21pts!!!!!!!!. Happy New Year everyone
Ref's decisions and good/bad luck is all swings and roundabouts at the end of a season. We had a bit of ours today. Great strike by Fer again for a special goal. We were hanging in over the last 15 minutes; a valuable 2pts dropped that would have lifted us away from the pack, and importantly given us some confidence to break that duck of away points. Not to be. I was disappointed to see us giving the ball away too easily - but definitely signs we are improving.
Indeed it should. Thank god you haven't got Brendan to waste it for you Good luck for the rest of the season
We're averaging almost a point a game, so if this form continues for another 18 games we'll finish with 37 pts - not sure if that will be enough to keep us up this season. We have to make the upcoming home games count against tougher opposition and also pick up a few away points against the weaker sides.
