Harry's press conference is very low. He's seems absolutely gutted - never seen him that low. I guess he sees that as a massive 2 points dropped and when you think how tight it'll be at the end of the season, those 2 points could be massive. Hope i'm wrong but i do see it the same way too - i feel gutted that we couldn't hang on. Hope that feeling doesn't transfer to the players who i'm sure are feeling equally gutted. Have to be honest though - these are the sort of games we need to win. I do fear the worst....
Similar feeling after the Wigan game when they nicked the 94th minute free-kick after Remy's wonder-goal...
Just back. Flat end to the game. But cannot fault the efforts of any of the players or Harry Redknapp's tactics. It did highlight a lack of options - and that we really need that third striker to take over when Bobby tires.
Sku - Harry's been with us through enough transfer windows to sign 101 strikers. He can hardly lament the lack of striking options
Yep, I'm concerned about the effect on confidence. They were as gutted as we were at the death. Man U at home next too.
Seems even more gutted on this one: http://www1.skysports.com/watch/vid.../9628165/redknapp-gutted-after-late-equaliser
Back, had some food, on second glass..... I really enjoyed today's game. Looked like Swans were going to crush us in the first ten minutes. Good job Gomes couldn't score if his life depended on it and the officials were struck blind when everybody in the ground could see Green handled outside the box - he even showed fans behind the goal which part of his arm he used after. Then we started playing well in a destructive kind of way and dragged Swansea down to our level. To be honest, the best we could do given the players available/chosen. We created plenty of good chances, though only Zamora's was a sitter. Could not fault the effort and commitment. I like Isla a lot, and Vargas was in better form than recently - but these blokes play a different (and in my opinion better) game than the rest, all first time passing and movement, while the rest dwell on the ball and look a bit immobile. Clint, Henry and Dunne played their hearts out again. Caulker did his now traditional hanging around on the left wing for a few minutes in the first half, but otherwise solid. Funniest moment was Fer running 30 yards to get involved in the sending off (couldn't really see it from the Loft) when he spent the rest of the game ducking tackles - terrific strike though. I rate Swansea, and would have taken a point and a good performance before the game, and at half time, when Col was adamant that they would score. But it was a bit galling to drop two points to 10 men at the death, even if Bony is class. On their performance today I overrated Swansea, though I do like Ki, a proper CM. Weren't we in for him at some stage? Oh, Junior. It is now becoming cruel to play him, he is so woefully out of sorts.
I nominate you to do the FA Cup 3rd Rd MD Thread v Sheffield United. I'm not doing it as I'm at work. It's all yours, fill ya boots Queenslander!!
I'm not sure I was at the same game of football as the majority on here saw it. The only poster that I can relate to on this thread is Swords. I thought it was just me, but having read through this thread I now realise I'm not quite the outcast as I first thought. Everyone around me was screaming for an outlet! They were misguided. We needed another body on in midfield or leave it as it was. Hoilett was not the answer. I was hoping that Harry realised this after taking so long to make the change. But oh fecking jesus christ! Hoilett came on.. Routledge went off, and Hoilett replaced him. Only at QPR can the opposition go down to ten but we give them a player and make us look like we had ten men. Hoilett is a shocking player and |I hope he never plays for us again. It was easier for him to run on in at goal and have a go at nicking a second, oh no. He decides to attempt the trickier option of taking the ball wide and running down the clock that he has never ever done... in the 89th minute. He lost it. .. again. He then gets through and has a shot on goal.... and misses the target! When was the last time he hit the target? He has no further use at this club other than the club pet, and that pet is 'Dog ****!' I think there was a couple of posters who said that they enjoyed that game, but for me we were a medieval footballing side that chanced our luck. It was quite frankly ****, and we would've been well beaten if the Swans fancied it. They didn't initially, but then they did when they realised we were quite happy to let them have a go . They did and they nicked a point.
Mate, you do the write up and I'll happily "research" the pictures of the scantily clad women Just give me some names to work with...

Mate, I was gonna type Craig Alcock's (SU Defender)name into my search for his parner but was a bit scared at what results i'd get back
Nines, follow my lead, drink the Kool Aid, join the dark side, forget all images of the beautiful game. We can't play proper football, medieval (great description) style and non-humiliating results is the best we can hope for. We are anti-QPR, with Jurassic non-management offering us nothing but blood (we commited a lot of reckless and dangerous fouls yesterday), sweat and a lakeful of tears. I enjoyed yesterday because my expectations are so low. We competed, destroyed and dragged Swansea down into the neanderthal depths. The best we can hope for. Hoilett should not be playing, but who picks him? Who thinks putting him on and moving Fer into the second striker role makes any sense at all when you are one up with 10 minutes to go against 10 men? The non-manager of anti-QPR!
So, back on topic just for a moment. With Green's hand ball outside of the area, I suppose we should be grateful for the draw since, had we gone down to 10 men, it is likely we would have been pasted. However, that's football and you win some and lose some. On another point, I've previously been a defender of Hoilett - great pace, scares defenders etc - but yesterday finally persuaded me that he is just not what we need at present. While Ki was making the run before the goal, he was being tracked by Hill and Hoilett. Hill tried a tackle but Hoilett slipped and then just stopped and watched as play unfolded and the goal went in. With his pace, he could have sprinted and caught Ki but just did not bother. NOT GOOD ENOUGH - out this window if possible. Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. Great players (as opposed to good ones) take those pivotal moments and convert them to goals / points. He should have won it for us at the end. I just hope that does not knock his confidence too much - actually same for the whole team. If they are as dejected as Harry was in the post match interview, they will need some lifting. To finish on a positive note, I have always thought that Swans are miles better than us. Yesterday I posted that they are a better team and they probably are but not by much. If we can survive this season and if we can get some younger players in gradually and maintain the 'Fortress Loftus Road' spirit (and get the odd away point too!!), we will be fine.
There can't be too many on here that still think Hoilett is the answer. When I look at him and Matt Phillips, both similar players, albeit one on the left, t'other on the right, I find myself asking whether they've taken the club any further forward than when we had Jamie Mackie. At least Mackie popped up with the odd goal or two.
