Nuts, your marriage is more important than 100 football matches so no problem, I will report back with a range of hotels and then we can all decide.
If the ball and chain was not coming i'd be seriously pushing not to bother with a hotel and just do an all nighter. As it is, they go shopping and i go to watch QPR and drink pints with you lot. It's not a bad deal Ye pick a hotel that best suits your needs and i will confirm later. Apologies, but thats the best i can do for now. This is the only time that she is travelling with me this season so i will be stag for the rest of my visits. Yipeeeeeeeeeee
Belfast, just having a quick read on the facebook site and Kingdom Hoop (Brendan) confirmed there that flights for himself and his grandson are booked. He also said he will stay in whatever hotel we are staying in and he also needs match tickets. Kingdom, I hope you don't mind me replying on your behalf.
A quick amendment, as yet i don't have a flight booked, timings are not great, can get a flight over out of waterford but no flight back, tbh dublin doesn't suit as a day trip, 2 & half hour drive to & from airport...not good. In all probability will go on overnight bus/ferry into victoria, not too bad will be back home by 9am sunday. Keep you posted.
Tramore, I just had a quick look. Tramore to Dublin airport is 2 hours drive max, especially early in the morning and late in the evening. I think I drove Tramore to Dublin in 1 hour 45 mins. From the red cow along the M50 to the airport only takes about 15 minutes now. Flights with Aer Lingus into Heathrow for the day trip are 116 euro. The overnight coach journey to London is horrendous. You will be wrecked the whole weekend, travelling overnight Friday and back again Saturday night. Alternatively, you could stay overnight like the rest of the S.E. R's and sleep on the car journey to Dublin when somebody else drives? It would be far easier and far more comfortable then the coach/ferry. I have contacted a few hotel groups for accomodation. I will report back later in the week.
Finglas, coach is not really a problem, done it many times and it only costs €50 return!!! Problem with driving to/from Dublin is that the motorway is sleep inducing, boring as hell and really don't fancy a late night drive home at that time of year.
ok got a reply from the box office saying they don't have information on that match at the moment but they suggested buying a membership ticket in case the tickets don't go to general sale. I'd post the email if I knew how. any thoughts or suggestions?
Steve, based on the copy you sent me by email it says; "Good afternoon, I'm afraid we currently do not have any information on this fixture, as of yet. Please keep an eye on the website as this will be updated nearer the time as soon as it is available. We would advise all fans to purchase a QPR membership each with this it would allow them to buy 1 ticket in the members pre-sale as we are not sure if this game would reach general sale. Kind regards, Box Office, QPR Holdings Ltd.". That really is an awful reply. Over to twitter????
In the past southampton have always had good support and it is only a couple of hours up the M3 so i expect them to take the whole of the school end, so tickets will be at a premium, i suppose the box office advise is fairly sensible. How much is membership?
