Match Day Thread QPR v Leeds

I am not saying that Ollie did not fiddle unnecessarily...for example at the end of last season when we were "safe" but currently I am not sure he has very much choice.

The defence picks itself on a rotating basis of anyone who can stand and is not suspended.

We all know our best midfield...and Ollie tries to play it week in week out ( sorry it does not include Manning)....but at the moment the feeling that we have a really good midfield is fading

It is the forward line where he fiddles....but he really cannot find someone who can press high and/or score. Conor and Mackie press high but don't score. Sylla and Smith score but don't work hard enough.

What we are really missing imho is a striker...... if we had some who could convert our chances with more success than currently we would obviously not be in quite such dire straights when we concede...for different reasons I am beginning to feel like I did at the end of the JFH era...if we concede we lose as we just can't score.

We can't afford a striker...I hope Eze is the answer ( btw....What ever happened to ReeceCox)

He messes around with the wide players aswell, sometimes not even deploying one on one side of midfield. We have that many wide players in our squad it's crazy. He then decides to play a formation that doesn't utilise them!
I hear a lot of people saying there are no other managers out there who would come. There's a couple of divisions below us where managers are cutting there teeth. If you look hard enough I'm sure there has to be someone with more tactical nouse than Ian. We are doing things on the cheap after years of big spending. I would much prefer to give these young lads a chance and be 18th than continue to swap and change week in week out

I’d look at Graham Potter from Ostersunds, but he may already be out of our league. Has taken them from the 5th tier of Swedish football to a Europa League tie with Arsenal, with no money and using discarded lower English league players. The bloke at Luton is doing a good job, but he is a religious nutter apparently.

I totally agree bob . Why do people feel we have to get an ‘established manager’ in or a foreign manager to succeed ! There are lots of young managers out there in lower divisions probably getting players with lesser ability to play a better style than we produce !
Look at what Chris wilder has done over last four years . Great job at Northampton , Sheffield Utd took a punt and look at them fly . Who was Chris wilder 3 years ago ! If it’s about having a bigger plan and starting from the bottom then do it properly . Instead of running around beating our chests and clapping our hands lets get it right from the ground up . Manage the youngsters the right way , and try and get a formula that works . Brentford do it ! And do it a lot better than us .

Look at what Chris Ramsey did. He wasn't an established manager. It's a bit of pot luck with someone unproven at this level.

Just a tad intolerant if I may say so. Whether he is a religious nutter or not has nothing to do with how well he does his job. Of course, just to be contrary, those of a religious persuasion might argue they are spurred on to greater heights in how they live their life, including how well they do their job, by feeling they are accountable to an higher authority!

Stick with what we have at all costs and remain stable plus we have QPR people at the club now

Again I see this as the only way forward ... not suddenly turn on our team and club when they need us

I said he’s doing a good job. Luton are scoring shedloads of goals. Have I touched a nerve here? If so I apologise. Plenty of people have managed to keep on the straight and narrow without attributing it to a higher power. If that’s what he needs, fair enough.

I personally find someone who has a tattoo of praying hands on one arm, what I think is meant to be a likeness of Christ on the other, and the detail of God creating Adam from the Sistine Chapel on his back as rather more religious than those who go to midnight mass at Christmas. But it’s not my area of expertise. Let’s hope he doesn’t lose his faith at some point, painful getting those removed.

There are some decent managers working in the lower divisions on a shoe string....Graham Alexander at Scunthorpe is one, the lad at Luton mentioned above, Uwe Rosler at Fleetwood, Ainsworth at Wycombe, that's 4 of the top of my head who maybe worth a punt if it all goes tits up for Holloway.....

If we were currently adrift by 10 points at the bottom of the league then I would without doubt be on the same side as the comments on here. Am I just guessing the future same as any of us ... of course but I believe we have to cut our cloth and gain a prolonged period of stability at the club

I cannot see any major changes as being nothing more than blind hope out of control

Personally I don’t think Holloway and his staff are doing a great job . If they turn it around I will happily say well done olly I was wrong for doubting you .

I would like to see us as a club taking a different route . I would like us to develope players / coaches and bring back the ethos of the club . I do a lot of work with grass roots football and get no greater pleasure than seeing players and coaches fullfil their potential .

So for me yes I will support Holloway and gervais (bircham) on a sat afternoon . Do I think they are right for my club , no .
Would I like to see our club bring in a new young manager with fresh ideas , yes I would .

Paul Cook at Wigan is another decent lower league manager. He's had two promotions with Chesterfield in 2014 and last season with Portsmouth. He was then poached by Wigan who also look like getting promoted this season.

As I said Football is a game of opinions . Yours is obviously that olly is doing a good job . I on the other hand would have to disagree .

For me it would be worse for olly to take us down rather than someone else who is given a bit of time , knows the lower leagues and is not all about his chest beating ego . Olly is all about the ego , it got on my nerves the first time round .

If the season was Nov to Nov we would have been relegated . You can argue it the players but for me a style of play is always dictated by the manager . Our style of play is non existent. We have no identity .

As I say Football is opinions . Not sure why you think everyone should agree with yours .
