He messes around with the wide players aswell, sometimes not even deploying one on one side of midfield. We have that many wide players in our squad it's crazy. He then decides to play a formation that doesn't utilise them!I am not saying that Ollie did not fiddle unnecessarily...for example at the end of last season when we were "safe" but currently I am not sure he has very much choice.
The defence picks itself on a rotating basis of anyone who can stand and is not suspended.
We all know our best midfield...and Ollie tries to play it week in week out ( sorry it does not include Manning)....but at the moment the feeling that we have a really good midfield is fading
It is the forward line where he fiddles....but he really cannot find someone who can press high and/or score. Conor and Mackie press high but don't score. Sylla and Smith score but don't work hard enough.
What we are really missing imho is a striker...... if we had some who could convert our chances with more success than currently we would obviously not be in quite such dire straights when we concede...for different reasons I am beginning to feel like I did at the end of the JFH era...if we concede we lose as we just can't score.
We can't afford a striker...I hope Eze is the answer ( btw....What ever happened to ReeceCox)
I hear a lot of people saying there are no other managers out there who would come. There's a couple of divisions below us where managers are cutting there teeth. If you look hard enough I'm sure there has to be someone with more tactical nouse than Ian. We are doing things on the cheap after years of big spending. I would much prefer to give these young lads a chance and be 18th than continue to swap and change week in week out
