I ended up decorating from 3pm onwards, it kept me away from punishing myself with the scores hoping Hull still had something to play for. I sat down and turned on the footie in time to watch the second half of Hull and Ipswich, what a cracking game. Hull were 100% up for it, both teams played well, not an ounce of bottling it. We really don’t want to be facing Hull in the playoffs, the only team showing proper form.
Do we want to be facing any of them? Hull on form and will be up for it but don’t think they’ll make playoffs as Plymouth away is a tough fixture and they’ll be fighting to stay up whereas West Brom play Preston at home so should get something out of that and goal difference is well below Norwich so won’t finish above them either. Farke used to manage Norwich. Southampton battered us at there place. Don’t have high hopes about playing a well drilled Corberan side in two legs either as he’ll have something to prove, they also battered Leicester but just couldn’t score. Coventry have nothing to play for but back in our hands if they win, fingers crossed.
Not looking too good for Tuesday, Robins saying Coventry's energy levels are very low and having to play the last 30 or so minutes yesterday with 10 men has only worsened that. Shame they reached that semi final, as 2 weeks ago, you'd have fancied them to have got something out of the game but not now.
It’s in our hands now and we can even afford to lose two of the next four games as long as we win the other two
My theory is, in recent weeks, Southampton and WBA have allowed nerves to creep in, they’ve been similar to us. Watching Hull yesterday they left nothing in the tank, it was like a cup final, heads never dropped, battled for every ball, strong challenges, they played some great football.
How many times have Leeds failed in the play offs?... Charlton.. Watford.. Millwall.. Doncaster..?? All games not just the finals.
Ipswich had a very tough game last night. Very physical. Travelling tales it's toll from Ipswich too having two away games in short space of time. Coventry and Ipswich will be tired. Prolly be a scrappy game.
Before the QPR game, I felt Ipswich with the added pressure would get 2 or 4 points, both would have left us in the driving seat if we’d have won. I posted on their forum, Ipswich - Hull - Ipswich - Coventry will not be easy travel in 48hrs Did Ipswich travel back last night arriving home around 3am. To be prepared to play on Tuesday away won’t be easy. Coventry would have been back home by the time Ipswich kicked off. The earlier game, the lesser travel, the home fixture, Coventry should be 24hrs fresher I think between where Coventry could finish with an extra 4 - 6 points and where they could finish with no extra, there is around £500k in extra prize money
Missed the game against QPR as i was coming back from work but saw the highlights and watched the Ipswich game as my missus had it on TV. You can see the gulf in class between us and Ipswich especially in our goal keepers. Mes's reactions time was too slow especially for Chair's goal. He waits to see where the ball was going then reacts but by then it's too late and don't forget about parrying the ball in to his own net for another goal and this is a kid who believes he should be a first choice keeper and as prem club. I think there's some people in France who is blowing smoke up his ass.
Spot on, and if we had a coach who had a plan B we would be done and dusted now, I've said it before we have the best players but not the best team.
