I even got the result and scorer right in the prediction league. There's always a first time for everything.
Also well done Bournemouth, coming back from the dead with three late goals at Everton (3-3), including the tying goal at 7 mins of added time, and Watford holding out as 3-2 winners at Villa (perhaps this is the season where Villa finally get their comeuppance)
Decisive, early subs for once. Sounds like we should have won more comfortably. Hopefully that "interim" title is soon removed. We're now only 5 pts outside a playoff spot. Charlie Austin came off the bench and scored with his first touch to beat Leeds and give Neil Warnock his first win as QPR's interim manager. Austin headed in his eighth league goal of the season from a corner to end the R's run of four games without a goal. Leeds goalkeeper Marco Silvestri made several important saves from Austin and Tjaronn Chery to keep it at 1-0. QPR kept pressing but their fourth straight home clean sheet ensured a first league win in over a month. With top scorer Austin on the bench and not deemed match fit following a calf injury, the hosts struggled to find a cutting edge in the first half. Grant Hall headed over from Alejandro Faurlin's corner before Nedum Onuoha's long range shot flew off target, while Chris Wood blazed Leeds' best chance over from a narrow angle. The turning point came when Warnock introduced Chery and Austin 10 minutes into the second half, and after Chery won a corner Austin got free to head past the helpless Silvestri. Austin then headed over from Matt Phillips' free-kick before another header forced Silvestri into a reflex save. Phillips fired a shot wide and Silvestri was once again called into action to stop a low Chery effort. Leeds winger Stuart Dallas flashed an effort across goal to jangle the home fans' nerves, but QPR held on to secure a valuable win. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34887085
Faurlin was pure class today. Him and Sandro will be key. Chery and Austin showed their class as well and got us going after we struggled without a striker Perch and Konchesky still the weak links and let us down far too often in attacking positions. YSY instead of Konch would help alot Onouha was very good today. Captain's performance taking game to Leeds at times. Hall did ok. But his inexperience showed. Gave a silly foul with set pieces a poor teams best chance. Also after Green went walkabout he recovered only for Hall to get absolutely roasted in the 6 yard box and Wood should have scored from there. Bit of confidence in that side and we should really kick on. Most pleasing thing was we played football today driven by Faurlin. Keep Austin and we should get play offs
just got back - that was a very good performance and really we should have won by two or three. Really knocked it about well, attacked with purpose. Some bad finishing and the final ball was poor at times - on another day we could have been punished for that. Hoilett looked good though, Phillips was up for it and i thought to a man the team played really well. Leeds, however, were really poor.
