There must be something in the fact they are both making similar team selections, is it based purely on training sessions? Are the youngsters not interested? How come Neil played Petrasso but now he cant even make the bench?
A little bit harsh on Green Watford, it was right in the corner and the wall parted like a tarts legs
You're on Beth. Yes it was konchesky's cross. I should double his mark.................................. To 4!!!!!!
Well... how depressing is that performance! Like others, I just can't get my head around why we are playing with no striker - against a team that we should be looking to go out and beat. This is two points dropped, not a point won!!! I am baffled as to why we were playing such a defensive set-up, and with no striker - WTF. There must be some seriously depressed strikers and peripheral players at our club right now. Especially if they don't get a chance after that poor performance. I am surprised that Chery and Luongo haven't been given a chance in the middle - more energy and forward movement must be better for the team. I can understand sticking with a defensive line' but surely, with our multitude of midfield players, we can get an effective midfield capable of winning the ball, holding possession and moving forward. Seems had we done this, Huddersfield wouldn't have had any opportunity to win a free kick. We're playing like a team capable of staying above the relegation spots, nothing more. We're capable of much much more. There's something rotten in the core of this club right now, and I have no idea what it is, but it's dragging us spiraling down. All these different managers and players can't be this consistently poor.
Hoops, I only saw a brief glimpse of the goal on Sky last night. I thought Polter was weak in the wall, allowing a small fella to push him off his wall position, and making a wider space for the shot? The big German could have held his ground better methinks.
I wasn't at the game, so I can only read the views of others about the overall performance. The video of their free kick was interesting, though. Both forwards in the wall used their lower bodies to shift the Rangers players out of the way and create a gap that the shot went through. Naive of us. You can't rely on the ref giving a foul - you have to stand your ground.
Reading all your comments this morning and putting them with my general thoughts, and have sobered up too...I think I understand the problem (you may all have got there before me I admit) Here is the great thought....we do not have players who are physically and mentally good enough for the Championship We have players who could play in a lower Premiership team...Austin, Fer, Phillips, Chery, Junior, Ned,Green,Ale, Sandro, Toszer. We have very few plays who can play at Championship level....Konch, Henry, Hall, Polter....and some of the untried youngsters I would guess. A few of the Premier players are willing to try...Austin, Ned, Junior, Ale...many do not know how to or can't be arsed. The sooner, Jimmy grabs this by the neck, and the club gives up on a playoff place...and concentrates on giving Jimmy the best base to build on for next season the better... I am afraid in my mind that does mean selling Austin in January, and getting in two new young strikers.....and Phillips and Fer.... Even if he managed to get this team firing. Would we want to go up with this lot....No. I am resigned to this season.....but need to see progress towards next season starting in January
Several hours later I'm still angry at what I saw yesterday. Wow. I find it infuriating that so many of our players are so blatantly unprofessional. Most hardly broke a sweat (literally) yesterday. There was no individual or team desire to work hard and get the ball back. We made them look like Barcelona for large parts of the game. I had a bet with one of my cousins that we wouldn't retain the ball for more than four passes during the game. I won. We simply can't hold onto the ball. Shocking. Playing Henry on the right side of midfield for the first half so Green could hit our kick outs to him was mind blowing. Although seeing the same player playing behind Fer in the 10 role later was laughable. Fer was a disgrace and must be shipped out immediately. What I witnessed yesterday was an absolute disgrace of a performance. No passion, no work rate, no hunger and blatantly obvious was our lack of any leaders on the pitch. We'll do well to avoid relegation.
Their number 8, think its butterfield, simply ran the show. Kept things ticking over at speed for them in the middle of the park all game. Every single one of our midfielders was a yard off him whenever he got the ball. Think it highlights the need for legs in the centre of this division, not the slow, one paced dross that we currently have (Toszer, Henry, Sandro). Faurlin tries his best to do it but even he struggles (three major knee ops granted, and he was never that quick in the first place). Was embarrassing to watch yesterday as the possession stats show. Couldn't believe our luck when we went 1 up.
Not quite. You were the most venomous of all of us at the end and apologised to the rest of the Board because you'd got it wrong.
I must be in the minority as I had a fabulous day in W12. Did a bit of shopping, had an all too brief and long overdue meet with some Not 606'ers (many thanks for the intro's 9's) and a nice evening Thai(ish) meal in the place next to the Dorsett Hotel. The only blight on my day was the couple of hours I spent in South Africa Road being simultaneously dumfounded and bored to tears.
I'm going to stick my head above the parapet on this and risk getting it shot off: JFH isn't the man for us.
Thank heavens I'm not alone. I WANT Jimmy to be a success (as I do with all our managers) but he sets us up not to lose. I want a manager who sets us up to WIN. Especially at home.
Agree also , was really hoping but early signs are not good , I know many will say give the man a chance and they would be right but all I'm saying is early signs .....are not good .
We have managed to make a lot of opposition players look good so far this season Paterson, however, is one I'd definitely have at LR. Lots of energy, strong in the tackle and a good eye for a pass
